The tv periodically turns itself on. This morning I could not turn it on with the remote or power button. Unplugged it for about 30 seconds, but it still did not work. About 10 minutes after giving up, it again turns on by itself. When it's on, it works fine, no problems. It still has a good picture, so I was wonder if their is a circuit board that's gooing bad.

I lived with it for about six weeks, then took the back off the TV. Just now it seems to be fixed, but I don't know if it will last.
I disconnected the wire leading to the channel up/down, volume up/down and source board, turned on the tv, turned it back off, reconnected the cable, and everything seems fine now.

My T.V. did the same thing and it was due to bad capacitors on the power supply board. the tops of the capacitors were bulged, once replaced it worked fine. It involves sodering in new capacitors total cost $30. that includes buying the sodering tool. Keep looking around on line someone had pictures step by step how to do it.

To all who are having power supply issues: Samsung is now acknowledging a problem with faulty capacitors. I called 1 800 726-7864 and they said they would repair certain out-of-warranty TVs if the problem is related to the capacitors. I just called and they are sending a service rep out to diagnose the problem.

its usually the 2200 microfarad cap on the power board that stops working. its really easy to replace and its only a 5 dollar repair part. use a 2200 mF cap rated around 25 volts instead of the usual 10 volts. samsung is famous for bad caps. if the cap feels buldged than this is the problem
