SOURCE: Goes through washing cycle but doesn't dissolve the tablets or cleans the clothes.

Clean out your outlet filter; this is to be done regularly once a month, depending on your usage. Re your tablets not disolving, try using front loading washing powder. Also refer to your manual..........

SOURCE: The fabric softener tray is full of water when wash has finished

The 2 probs could be related.
The first you need to do is remove the dispenser drawer, and thoroughly clean every part of it, particularly the conditioner compartment, poke clear all the tubes and apertures you can see,the problem is caused by a blockage.
The smell is related to the fact that the waste pipe is probably connected to your sink waste, you need to remove the pipe and check for partial blockage, or if it goes to an outside sink , then you need to get some kind of drain cleaner to pour down the sink..
Also , at least once every 6 weeks do a hot wash with powder, but no clothes in, this helps to keep the m/c clean and prevent build up mould and dirt inside the m/c..
Clean the door seal regularly, when you finish a wash.and leave door open and dry it
This should help disperse the smell.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: Moldy smell

Possible explanation: Some water is left in the hose going up to the drainpipe b/c the pump can only pump water with water, not air... so when the last bit of water is sucked up, it 'stays' just the other side of the pump exit nozzle and keeps the drain tubefilled. This water gradually leaks thru the drain exit valve and back into the machine, sometimes siphoning standing water in the drain trap with it.

The problem is design. Not all of the water is getting out after each cycle and not all of the soap gets fully dissolved. After awhile, this mucky slime gets 1n the drain hoses, pump and filter - and they all smell musty - especially when the machine sits empty with the door closed between loads.

You need to clean the innards of the machine by doing a load without clothes on hottest setting (Whites) and depending whether the smell is bacterial (add 1 cup White Vinegar), fungal (add 1 Cup Bleach) or clogged filter (add 1cup Arm and Hammer with 1/4 cup SALT), this should do it

(Vinegar for Bacteria, Bleach for Fungus and Arm and Hammer with SALT to soften and loosen the slime)

Choose from above (not all 3 at once tho) and fill the machine with water and let run without clothes.

I would do the A&H with salt first, let cycle complete, then restart and add a cup of Vinegar, tel cycle finish then redo with 1 cup bleach

After treatment, leave the front door open after doing laundry from now on so it can thoroughly dry out and get air circulation. - Just open, not WIDE open ;-)

Cheers!

SOURCE: Dirty steaks on clothes at end of wash cycle.

Make up a couple of liters of a strong solution of hot water and Soda Crystals, pour that mix into the machine without any laundry in it and do couple of very hot washes

Change your soap powder to one of the old fashioned ones for a month or so and see how you get on.

Cold washing tends to leave body fats and other greases inside the machinea s there is little to break them down in "Modern" powders

SOURCE: Egg Smell

We fell prey to the same desire to have the state of the art, economical and supposedly gentler on your clothing front loading washing machine. Bosch WFK 2401 and I have found a solution but it is not pretty for those of you who have a washer not hidden in a laundry room.

I keep the kick plate off at the base of the front of the washer. Using a low profile pan, an 8 x 8 cake pan is about right and immediately after every wash plase the small drain hose over the pan and open it. The pan fills about half way with water that is left in the bottom of the drain system. Doing this prevents the next load from being exposed to the rotten egg water.

It must be done at the end of every load. I too keep the front door open when not in use and pull the detergent/softener draw open as well.

Good luck. Can hardly wait to justify that I have lived with this long enough to purchase a new top loader!

Bosch maxx Classic. 7 yo. Washing cycles are not finishing. Timer is showing 1 but does not turn off. Clothes are still quite wet. Have cleaned filter. Anything else I can do?

Looks like the solenoid that controls the drain motor is malfunctioning.
Whenever this happens, the water does not get drained fully and remains in the chamber thus keeping the clothes still wet.
Speak to your local service representative and get the part replaced.

How do I drain the pump on a bosch classic maxx model 18061 au

You will always have some water (up to a litre) left in the pump of any washing machine once the cycle has finished. On some of the Bosch models there is a short black hose next to the filter which will allow you to drain off this excess water in to a shallow baking tray before opening the filter. I there is no hose then usually you can drain straight into a shallow tray

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France @ 21:25 Wed evening.

Someone else had this sort of problem about a week ago.
I asked him the question 'does the drain pipe go into a sink u-tube?'' because water from clothes does not smell, especially after washing and rinsing. Sink water CAN smell, especially if there is a partial blockage/sludge in its u-tube which would be shared by the washer. BTW I believe this was his problem.
There should be water in a (non-sink) washer waste pipe u-tube blocking any smells from the rest of the waste system. I suggest checking the sink/washer waste set-up first.
Also, have you cleaned the lint tray/filter recently? If not it could be a build up of sludge there.
If you unaware of where it is (on our Bosch front loader) it is behind the front lower panel - but before starting-
REMOVE POWER FROM THE MACHINE AND HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE AND/OR RAGS TO SOAK UP ANY WATER when the filter cover is removed.
One or other of these should cure your problem I would expect.
If you have trouble removing the filter put a comment on this entry and I will receive notification that you have done and get back to you.

Good luck!

My clothes smell like mildew

Run a load of wash water with chlorine bleach ***Without adding clothes***. This will kill any spores in the system. Try to remove laundry as soon as it is finished and don't let it sit in the washer overnight. If possible, keep the door open when not in use.

Terrible smell in washing machine

I used white vinegar in the machine and did a full wash.
I am subsequently not using a softener in the machine as I have found out that this is what caused the smell.
I now use white vinegar instead of softener and this has solved the problem.

Hey, Buddy!

Well the mold is caused from the door being shut after you arte finished with the use of the machine. it traps the mouisture inside..To solve this use some bleach and water wipe it down around the door seal..then after each load just crack the door open this will allow air to dry out the inside and stop the mold
