Difficult to say without really seeing what's happening and which thread is breaking. If the top thread is breaking, check to make sure the thread is not wrapped around the spool pin or a thread guide.

Just some things to try:
Install a brand new needle.
Be sure to clean and remove all the thread pieces, lint, etc from under the needle plate, around the shuttle, etc. Oil as instructed in the owner's manual.
Remove all the thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top and rethread the machine from the beginning. Check that the thread path is correct and the bobbin is loaded and threaded correctly.

The first thing to always try is installing a brand new needle.

If it is actually pulling the thread out of the needle, try pulling at least six inches of thread through the needle's eye and the bobbin before beginning to stitch. This may be helpful:

Is the thread actually breaking after the first stitches are taken? If so, the tension is too tight or the machine is threaded incorrectly. Check your owner's manual and be sure you are threading everything correctly. When threading the upper thread, FIRST RAISE the presser foot so the thread will seat properly in the upper tension disk.

Check your thread tension isn't too tight, try on a piece of similar fabric that you are going to use, try sewing a line of stitches, if the thread snaps, change your tension number, then sew another line with your different tension number, try this until you can stitch without the thread snapping, it could be that your bobbin tension is too tight. Can you check your machine manual, it could even be the needle or the thread that's wrong for your fabric. But I would say, check your tension.

My experiences with thread breaking with machine on a quilting frame make me look at the upper tension being set too high, the needle being worn or movement of the machine is too fast. Reduce the upper tension first, then sew in straight lines at first. See if you can sew slowly, in straight lines and reduce the upper tension until the thread stops breaking. If so, try some 1-2 inch circles, again going slowly. If the needle thread is pulling to the back, you will need to increase the upper tension again until the stitches meet in the middle of the fabric. If you can't locate a balanced spot where the needle thread is not pulling to the back side and thread doesn't break, try taking the machine off of the frame and sewing on a table. If it won't sew this way, it needs some professional help. If it does, you will probably save a lot of time taking it in for service, making sure to explain to the repair center that you have problems on a quilting frame, not while sewing normally. When the machine is adjusted to sew normally on a table and you move it to the frame, you will probably need to reduce the tension by 1-2 complete turns of the tension knob.

Here are a few things to try.

* Raise your feed dogs if your machine has this feature.

* When you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.

* Your fabric may require a different needle. Generally, heavier fabrics require larger needles and thinner fabrics, smaller needles. You may also need a larger needle if you're sewing through many layers of fabric. And make sure to use a ballpoint needle for knit fabrics and a sharp needle for woven (or a universal needle for either). And make sure your needle is appropriate for the type of thread you're using.

* Adjust the pressure of your pressure foot, it may be too light for your fabric.

* If your upper thread and bobbin threads are different types, try using the same thread for both. And use a good quality, brand name thread.

* Change your needle plate. Try switching to a needle plate with a smaller hole (a straight stitch needle plate).

Important Note: If you change your needle plate, check to make sure your needle aligns perfectly with this smaller hole before starting to sew. A misaligned needle could hit the plate and break, which could be dangerous. And make sure to change your needle plate back for zigzag and other wide stitches.

try to reduce needle thread tension. if no improvement then remove and look closely for any sharp point in bobbin case holder mechanism that may be breaking thread.

The lowerloop thread kept getting cut by the upperlooper.....I rethreaded the machine in order and then made sure that the lowerlooper thread was UNDER the part of the machine that makes the looks the loopings (silver part that comes to a point on the right side of the needles...sorry I don't know what to call it) and the upperloop was ON TOP of the same part.....it started working great. I actually have very nice tight stitches now.

FYI---- Loops on the bottom-- problem is in the threading..
Loops on the top--- problem is with the bobbin.
