Well it could be a couple of things. Double check to make sure that the correct speaker button (A or B) is pressed, Tape Monitor isn't and it isn't muted. If all that looks good, it could be an internal issue such as a pre-amp or even an output.

Set the receiver for auto audio input - I think that you are getting caught out between MPEG and DTS audio. If you have the wrong one for the audio source then you hear nothing.

I woul try to download it from a reliable site and print or see if Denon sells it

This is where Denon suffers.... I am also not very impressed with Denon's service. Good products..bad after-sales.

If its AVR 2802, you must have bought it some time after 2002...
Are they not legally bound to stock parts for a certain number of years...
You must speak to their seniors in Sales department and if possible, please check locally, take them to the consumer court.

Ask them for the part name and the part numbers, you might be able to source it from somewhere else.

We can not recommend a specific service center, but without knowing your location, we can not even suggest much of anything. You can try searching the DENON website for an authorized service center, or you can use look for a local servicer.

Typically, these units fail because the tray belts start slipping if they won't load or if the discs aren't recognized, the optics are either dirty or failing. These often use Sony optics assemblies that are readily available. Is the problem that the discs are not read? If so, try opening up the unit and carefully clean the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol.

I had also the same problem. If you see the "digital" sign blinking on the display, it means the DSP to not start properly. You need to change the IC, AT49LV002-70TC (IC 817 ) at DSP board (Denon P/N 262 3010 006).
