Apparently we have to register the TWX977 to the TRS9585. We have a message dispalyed on the waterproof handset :"Your phone is currently not regsitered, please refer to use manual" Unfortuantley, the user manual is not user friendly and we have not been abel to figure it out.

Not sure if you still have this problem, but...

Basically go on you base unit, and hit "MENU/SELECT". Scroll down to "REGISTER HANDSET" and click "MENU/SELECT". On your waterproof handset, hold the "#" key until it displays "REGISTERING HANDSET". And voila! After that finishes, your waterproof handset will be good to go!

CAN NOT CLEAR WATER PROOF DECT 6.0 PHONE TO REGISTER IT SAYS TO PUT ON BASE BUT I WANT TO REGISTER ON MY OTHER UNIDEN BASE BUT PHONE WON'T FIT ON BASE

Not stating the model number of your phone makes it a bit difficult because the process is not the same on all models. I am going to deal with the cordless main base only Remove any handset from the main base cradle. Then
On the waterproof handset Press and Hold the # sign until the Registering handset option shows then release it.Then on the main base, Press and Hold the FIND hs or Find or locator button for 5 seconds ( if there is no IN USE light on the base) or until the IN USE light come on, then release it. Hold the handset near the base and it will register.
Please note the Uniden waterproof handset could be a bit tricky to register and not knowing the model makes it more difficult. and you may have to apply other methods.

Setting up my outgoing message: just purchased Uniden cordless DECT 1580. Manual says select command 8. How do I find Command 8? thanks, joan

Hi,

please follow the instruction to register the handset to base

To register a DCX150 accessory handset:
1. Charge the handset completely.
2.Place the handset in the base cradle for about thirty seconds. Handset Registering will appear in the LCD.
3.When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration complete then show the handset ID number.

If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.

To register a DCX200 or DCX300 accessory handset:

1.Charge the handset completely.
2.Disconnect the base AC adapter. Then press and hold find while you reconnect the adapter. Keep holding find until the charge LED starts to blink.
3.On the handset, press and hold # until the handset beeps and displays Handset Registering.
4.When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration complete then show the handset
ID number.

If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.

Thanx

Uniden DECT 1580-4WXT waterproof unit appears to be dead - will not charge or register with base unit. Just bought system at Sam's Club 2 days ago. The other 3 units work fine.

This phone uses inductive charging because of the waterproof feature. I suggest that you remove the
battery cover from the back of the handset, unplug
the battery, and then plug it back into the handset.
This solution worked for me.

Handset won't work

I went through this exercise with a Siemens Gigaset 8800. The solution is to DE-register the handset first. Then register it with your base. This function can likely be accessed in the handset menu. The phone you purchased is apparently still registered to the previous user's base.
