Problem s with Barbie Magic Hairstyler on Win XP

I installed Barbie Magic Hairstyler on my Win XP computer, it installed fine but when I tried to play it an error comes up: C:\Program Files\Barbie\Barbie Magic Hair Styler\Barbie Magic Hair Styler.exe is not a valid
Win32 application
the game says on it that it is for Windows 95 so is it just not compatable?

You can try running it in compatibility mode (rightclick the shortclick and select properties)

It may simply not work

I got this game to work on XP and my daughter loves it! Here's what you do after you install the game:

    1. Right-click on the desktop, then left-click on New, Shortcut.

    2. For the command line, put in "d:\barbie.exe" (where "d:" is the drive letter for the CD on your system).

    3. Click Next.

    4. Put in the description for this shortcut, such as Barbie Hair Styler.

    5. Click Finish.

Make sure the CD is in the drive, then run it from this new shortcut.

When i install barbie horse adventures mistery ride it says wrong disc...it won't let me play the game.

Did you legally download this game? If not you most probably have to crack it. Not advisable to do so.

I recently picked up an older game, Heroes of Might and Magic IV get home and install. Install wizard runs fine except for one thing despite the fact it correctly identifies all my hardware, it tells me...

I have Heroes of Might and Magic 5 Running on Win 7. There were many patches to install before this title worked(on my computer). Have you installed all the available updates for it?

Here are 2 sites that have the compatibility options:
http://techpaul.wordpress.com/2009/06/28/compatibility-tricks-for-old-programs-new-machines/
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

If that does not work, you can also try to set up XP mode in Win 7: (Note: you need to have Win 7 Pro, Enterprise, or Ultimate for this one) Win 7 Home Premium does not support XP Mode.

I have secret agent barbie, and i want to install it on my computer. I have the Windows 7 operating system, and i can't install it. I saw on the system requirements it said the newest one was Windows 2000....

Alot of older games won't work on new operating systems without getting some extra files from the net. You CAN try adjusting the compatibility of the game and see if that works. When you insert the disc, cancel out of the auto run and go to your my computer. Explore the disc and find the setup.exe file. Right click on this and click on properties. Find the "Compatibility" tab and try adjusting that down to Win XP. If that doesn't work then the game itself might not be able to run on windows 7, which is cruddy, but is the case in some older games :(

DRIVERS FOR IOMAGIC 250GB (WIN XP)

The I250HD35 is plug-and-play with Windows XP. That means that all of the drivers needed to run your hard drive are included in Windows.

If your computer is asking for drivers when you plug in your drive, one of two things is probably happening:

1) Windows XP doesn't know where to look for the right drivers

2) Your drive has malfunctioned

The easiest way to assess which of these is happening is to take your drive and plug it into another computer that is running Windows XP. If it is detected properly on the other machine, then your computer doesn't have the right drivers or is looking in the wrong place for them. If it doesn't, then I/O Magic will be happy to replace your drive if it is still within the warranty period

If it is detected properly on another Windows XP machine, then when it asks for drivers, make sure to point it to the WindowsINF directory. This is where the default drivers are located.

If your drive is not detected properly on the other computer, your drive is probably experiencing a hardware malfunction. Please visit the I/O Magic website at www.iomagic.com and click on Support for specific return information.

Have a nice day,
