Flip Mino won't turn on!

Have got Flip mino that Iused today to video the kids enjoying the snow. When I got home and tried to down load it to laptop it would not turn on.
Not sureif it wasleft on after filming and battery ran down???? If this was the case, how long does it need to charge before it will switch on again???? Thanks

    I recorded a 55 minute video and when I tried to download it onto my laptop it froze and now it won't turn on but the light that says it is charging is blinking when I have it connected to my computer. It has been blinking for a few hours and still won't turn on. Please help!

I had the same problem. Here are the steps I took to fix it.

1. Adjust the power options on your laptop to ensure it does not sleep/hiberate ever.
2. Reset the camcorder by inserting a paperclip into the hole in the tripod mount. Hold the paperclip in there for about seven seconds.
3. Then immediately plug the flip into the cpu.
4. You may not see anything besides the little blinking white light on the USB arm for a while (about 30 minutes maybe) but leave it in.
5. Eventually it should spring to life and show the recharging battery on the little screen (the Flip Share program may start too.)
6. Leave it charging until the little white light stops flashing - full charge about 3 hours.
7. You can then remove the flip and change the power settings back to normal.

Flip Mino won't turn on. At first it wouldn't charge (I let battery get too low, THEN couldn't get it to charge.) Now the battery image is full green when connected to computer but can't get cam to turn on. Tried paperclip for 7 seconds. Tried holding record button down for 10 seconds. White light on cam USB is solid. Any advice?

My flip's screen randomly turn green and would not turn on. I charged it over night nothing happend but when I reset it and immediately plugged it in to my computer it started to charge.

My brand new Flip Mino won't turn on. Tried it
Chances are that the battery doesn't have enough charge. I would suggest charging it overnight to see if that helps. Sometimes products off the shelf have been sitting awhile, and the battery is just not charged at all. Also, with rechargeable batteries, they have to be recycled, that is, recharged about 4 times before they charge up to their maximum potential. If charging the battery good doesn't help, I would just get my money back, if you can. Good luck hope this helps.

The flip mino hd usb won't plug into most of my usb ports (And yes, I know the difference between a firewire and usb). I have tried it on four different computers with a total of 10 usb ports. it worked...
My flip mino hd USB also will not plug into my MacBook Pro.  I've tried it on 3 different machines and it will only fit into one port, and not at all easy into that port.  When I look at the USB connector on the device, there appears to be slight raised plastic ridged on the outside ends of the connector.

Flip Video Mino keeps freezing up, can't shut down or upload
At least the following works on my first generation Flip Ultra camcorder (not Mino). Remove battery, put it back next morning. After that be careful not to touch "on" slider switch on the side of the camcorder while Flip logo is still on the screen. I mean turn the device on by using the slider switch and do not touch that switch again until Flip logo on the screen is gone. Doing the opposite (trying to use the "on" switch again while device is still "booting" and Flip logo is on the screen) will lead to the Flip Ultra freeze.

Flip Mino HD battery will not recharge
I panicked when I saw all these posts but the reset did work for me. Others say it doesn't but this first time at least, it did the trick. I stuck the end of a paper clip in the little hole in where the tripod mount is (it's further recessed than the mount itself). It doesn't seem like it fits, but it does. The minoHD was off, since by this time it wouldn't turn on. When I tried to turn it on again, it finally came on with the battery in the red zone. I recharged and it appears to be fine.

Flip Mino HD Screen Frozen
I had the same problem when it was brand new straight out of the box. Below is Pure Digital's (manufacturer of the Mino HD) response. This did solved my problem.

"Please ensure that you are gently touching the operational buttons on the camcorder rather than pressing them. Pressing too hard, or too rapidly in succession while waiting for a response, can desensitize the touch pad, requiring a reset of the camcorder.

If you find that the Mino has already frozen, we suggest resetting the camcorder.

To reset, simply take a pin and insert it into the reset hole within the camera’s tripod mount, wait five seconds before powering on, and then power on without touching any of the buttons on the back of the camcorder for an additional five seconds.

Please note that resetting the camcorder in this manner will not affect the videos resident on the camcorder; it will simply reset the screen and button sensitivity on the Mino.

BTW my Mino HD has frozen twice now (I've had it for 2 hours total so far!) and the reset trick has fixed it both times. It seems to me the buttons are too sensitive or the computer program not the most stable. I hope this is the last of the problems!
