Does anyone have a manual for a datejust rolex

Just purchased a previousley owned rolex datejust just wondered if there was a downloadable manual available

  • adgj99979 Feb 12, 2009

As in the instructions above it states to pull the crown out to the first position for the date adjust. However, am I correct in saying that the date adjust can only be completed by pulling out the crown to the second position and rotate the hands to the desired date? When I pull the crown out to the first position it only allows me to wind the watch it does not advance the date. Anyone with experience with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks

No, there isn;t any downloadable manuals for Rolex watches, but operation of Rolex Datejust is very simple:
1) when you unscrew the crown, it is in winding position,
2) when you pull out the crown to the first click, it is in date setting position,
3) when you pull the crown further out to the second click, it is in time setting position.
To find the daytime or night time on the watch: pull out crown to the second click and advance watch hands forward till you pass the 12 mark on dial. If the date changes as you pass it - it is the night time (midnight). If the date do not change as you pass it - it is the daytime (noon).
After all settings being done, allways screw the crown back down as it protects the watch from water and moisture.
Never use watch in sauna- it's not designed for that.

How to adjust a men's Rolex Datejust, that is very slow?

Its time for a service.
Take it to any Rolex re-seller that offers repair or to any good timepiece service center. If its a vintage piece i would recommend sending it to Rolex, paying the extra cost to receive the watch with full Rolex repair documents and service history. The Rolex web site has information on this. Also this company does a fine job on Rolex repair. https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-repair-service

How do you open the latch on a Rolex datejust watch

If I understand right, by the latch you mean bracelet clasp. You just pull it by the crown. Clasps on ROLEX watches can be very tight, so, have to pull it with appropriate force. Rate me, plz.

Rolex oyster perpetual datejust time/date setting instructions

Depending on how old the watch is, It may be quick set or older models are not quick set. In older models you need to unscrew the crown, pull out the crown and rotate the crown to set the time, and in order to set the date rotate the hour hand past 12 twice in order for the date to change. Set the date first and then set the hour and min. For quick set models unscrew the crown and pull it out to the fist click this position you can "quickly" set the date by rotating the crown. Set the date and then pull out the crown to the second position out. Rotate the crown to set the hour and min. Then push the crown back in and screw it down.

Rolex datejust

What you have is an older model Datejust -- or at least an older model movement. During the 1950s, many Rolex Datejust models had an alternating red/black date wheel. Tudor (Rolex's second brand) also had movements with the same red/black date wheel.
BTW, those watches are becoming more and more collectible. Sounds like you may have a nice classic on your wrist! :-)

I hope this helps!
