I have a Sharp AR-208D copier. Keep getting the message "PC cannot send date to printer. Please check power & printer cable connections & retry printing."

The power is fine. The cables are solid. Now what do I do?

SOURCE: al-1540 only scans, wont print says-data could not be sent to pri

it seems that the computer was trying to send the data to the printer through the wrong port. i went to the control panel in windows xp, and selected printers and scanners. and added a new printer (manually) as al-1540 cs on usb port 2. it alerted me that the software was not signed, i proceeded anyways. it asked if i wanted to keep the original printer , i said yes. and the test page printed away. so i would suggest people with similar problem to keep adding multiple copies of the printer again and again on usb ports 1,2,3... etc till it prints the test page. use the copy no. indicated in the printed test page to do all your print jobs in the future.

We just got ours working today, by following the instructions here: https://www.businessneedz.com/Manuals/ar168s_setup.pdf (yes, it lists a different model number, but the instructions worked, and were linked from the ar-208d product page from the supplier)

Check the network connection and or the USB cable. Go to Sharp web site and download the latest drivers for your machine and computer. they (drivers) are normally free.

If you have the install disc , Go into remove programs and uninstall it . then reinstall it . up date as there may be a new driver for it.

  1. fold down the bypass tray on the right
  2. hit grey button on right door to open it
  3. fold the front cover down
  4. press green button to remove the toner
  5. the drum is the other thing you can grab and there and remove.
  6. reassemble in reverse order of 5-1
