I have to re-tune every time I start the car, dont have manual to preset radio stations ? Should it not stay on automaticly

You have not wired the radio properly. Your constant power (yellow wire) needs to be fed from a voltage source that measures 12VDC no matter the position of the key for clock and memory purposes.

To set the stations simply press and hold the preset until it beeps.

What was the price of the Alpine CDA-9826 car stereo system?

That is a discontinued model. You may be able to search on ebay or the like for that specific model Alpine, or check Amazon.com for similar. The CDE-9842 goes for about $142 on Amazon. Otherwise, you'd be looking for a different, newer model nearly anywhere else.

Quoting from page 6 of the manual:

"Select the radio band and tune in a desired radio station you wish to store in the preset memory.
Press and hold, for at least 2 seconds, any one of the preset buttons (1 through 6) that you want to store the station on. The selected station is stored.
