How do i get the regions setup on a 42" lg tv

Hello
Buy a univesal remote control, which have setup codes for LG tV. You can get this information from the catelogue accompanied with the remote control. There will be proceedings also to setup the remot to tV. Or get its orginal remote control from the authorised service center for LG at your town.

I was made to understand that there are several versions of this model. Pls try:

• Turn on your DVD player - with no disc inside;
  
• Press pause followed by 3 1 4 1 5 9;
• screen will display current region
  
• Press 0
• enter

or

• Press On
• "No disc" will appear
• Eject Tray
• Press '0' more than five times.
• Press Pause
• Press Off

or

• Press "pause"
• Press "1 4 7 2"
• edit the 5th number group in the code
• the first number is the region code
• example; if the number is "12" then the region is set to 1
• another example, if the number is "42" then the region is set to 4
• so if you want all regions set it to "02"
• when finished press "pause" again to exit from the menu
• power off the unit and turn back on again.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

you must set SERVICE MODE setup

I believe that the yellow light indicates that the set is plugged into the wall. They are never truly "off". As long as they are plugged in there is a small amount of power used to keep the settings, (setup, color, contrast,etc.) in the tv's memory.

Power on the dvd player without any disc on it.
Press the PAUSE button and then the following numbers
3 1 4 1 5 9
Then you will be asked which region you want to set up.
0 = All regions. 1 = Region 1. 2 = Region 2 etc.
Then press pause again.
Then power off the dvd, and then turn it on.
I just did it with mine that was setup to only reagion 4 and couldn't watch region 1 dvds.. I set it up to = 0 (all).

Hi, I could not get it to work using the other ways, Also I am not sure if this might help I am in Australia region 4 and the below worked for me

(1) Make sure there's no disc in the system and turn it off. Turn the system on again and it will display a "no disc" message on your TV.

(2) Use the remote control: press the "PAUSE" button and then key in the code "314159"

(3) Your TV then displays a menu for choosing the desired region. Select "0" to make your unit an all region player.

(4) Press the "PAUSE" button again.

(5) Turn the system off and wait a few moments before restarting.

Try running a set of audio cables(Red/white) from your audio out jacks on the back of your TV to your reciever's audio in? 

open tray
Press PAUSE
enter 0000
The region code set page should appear.
Set code. 0 for multi region
Press PAUSE.
OR

Make sure your TV is on and the DVD player is active on it
Unplug the DVD player
plug it back in
wait for text "nodisc" to appear on the DVD display
Use remote control to open tray (tray must stay open)
Use remote control to Press "Pause" (you won't see anything)
On the Remote control number pad enter the number "0000" (4 zeros)
The region code setup window will appear on your TV
on the remote control number pad enter number "0" (zero)to set multi region
Use remote control to Press "Pause" again
close tray
