As Bell no longer offers a way to get rid of this incredibly annoying advertising, there must be a way to deal with this problem.
None of the phone numbers I have to delete this annoying problem work anymore. Is there another solution out there?
Would appreciate any help
I have no idea how this posted as a solution as I posted it as having the same problem!!
found the fix and it does work. Here it is
Bell has discontinued their process to wipe out the ad. Aastra Telecom manufactures this phone and has a 9 step procedure to clear the Bell I-Select Advertisement. Herre's a copy:
WARNING: This procedure will permanently erase the Callers List and Directory in your 390 telephone. Please record important names and numbers before implementing this procedure. This procedure disables the programming of the idle screen, so it will not only get rid of the ads permenately but you will also lose the ability to program any of the softkeys on the idle screen as well.
1) Press the Options button (the short button below the orange Goodbye button)
2) Press the Down Arrow 4 times or until the cursor points to Area Code and press Show
3) Press the Down Arrow 2 times or until it points to entry 3.
4) Press Change
5) Enter 0099 and press Done 2 times to return to the Options Menu
6) Press Up Arrow 3 times or until the cursor points to Time/Date and press Show
7) Set the Date and Time to Jan 01 12:00am and press Done
8) Press Goodbye to return to idle screen and verify the Date and time are correct
Before the time changes to 12:01am perform the next step (if the time does change, return to step 7)
9) Press these keys in sequence: Option, Mute, 0 (zero)
Your telephone will reset and the Ad message will be permanently erased.

This is from the Aastra website (a pdf file). Although the "soft keys" don't work after getting rid of the iSelect Ads, you CAN manually program the soft keys to your specs:
Procedure to Clear Bell iSelect Advertisements From Your Aastra 390 Screen Phone
As of December 31, 2008, Bell discontinued all support for their iSelect Services. As a result of this cancelation,
many customers are left with the advertisements for services that are no longer offered. We understand this can
be a great frustration for our customers, so we are offering a way to PERMANATELY remove these
advertisements from your Aastra 390 Screen Phone.
WARNING: This procedure will default your phone back to factory settings. As a result, any information you have
saved in your callers list and/or directory will be lost. Please review your callers list and directory before
implementing this procedure and make note of all the names and numbers. These will have to be manually added
after the telephone has been reset. This procedure works by permanently disabling the idle screen programming
on the 390 so the only thing that will appear is Time and Date and incoming Caller ID information. Your softkey
programming will also revert to factory defaults. After this procedure, you can continue reading the instructions for:
Programming Your Softkeys:
1) To begin, press the Options button on your telephone.
2) Press the Down Arrow until you get to Option 5. Area Code and then press the Show softkey.
3) Press the Down Arrow until your cursor is on position 3.
4) Press the Change softkey.
5) Enter 0099 as the Area Code and press Done two times to return to the Options List.
6) Now go to Option 2. Time/Date and press the Show softkey.
7) Set the Date and Time to Jan 01 12:00 A.M. Use the Month softkey to scroll through the months until you get
to January. Use the Day softkey to scroll through the days until it says 01. Use the Hour softkey to scroll through
the hours until you get to 12 (A.M.). The TensMin softkey will scroll through the minutes in increments of tens and
the Minutes softkey will scroll through minutes individually. Your minutes will need to be 00. Once you have the
date and time set to Jan 01 12:00 A.M. Press the Done softkey.
IMPORTANT: For the rest of this procedure, your time and date must stay at Jan 01 12:00 A.M. If you take too
long and the time changes to Jan 01 12:01 A.M, you will need to go back to Step 7 to reset the time and date.
8) Press Goodbye to return to idle screen and verify the Date is set to Jan 01 12:00 A.M.
9) Press the following key sequence in this order: Options, Mute, 0 (zero)
Your telephone will reset and the Bell Advertisements will be permanently erased.

I get annoying message: For FREE services press "OK" in both English and French - it obliterates my date and time message on Bell Vista 390 screen
I have the Bell Vista 390 corded phone, bought & used in BC. The annoying "I Select" features were successfully deleted by calling the toll free number 1-888-419-1719 and individually deleting the various free features. Everytime a power outage happens, I have to do the same process by calling that number. I just found out today, the toll free number is no longer in service! What now?
It's incredibly annoying and I would just like to see it gone. Any solution?
Since a brief power outage, I cannot get rid og the screen either; the toll free number given to us when we purchased is no longer valid. ANY WAY to get rid of this screen?
