Hi - if you haven't already reformatted the memory stick or erased the designs, try plugging the memory stick back in your machine and see if Windows recognizes. A memory stick (or any external storage, such as my 500 GB hard drive) can become corrupted if you don't remove it correctly. If windows does recognize the memory stick and can display the list of files stored there, and if you have embroidery software, start your embroidery software and try to open one of the designs. If windows can list the files, but your embroidery software can't open the same files, the files are corrupted. I can't explain what happend, but this is a routine I have had to perform many times. It is the only way I know of to figure out what is wrong.
Good luck! Ginn

I think the problem may be with the folder structure on your flash drive!

You need to start by creating a new folder called EmbF5, and put your designs in that, in another folder which should be called MyDesign. You can have other folders within EmbF5 - all the folder names must have 8 letters or less, but the design names can be longer. The machine uses jef format designs.

There are several Yahoo Groups for users of the Janome embroidery machines, many of the folks on them are very knowledgeable and will help with problems.

I hope this helps

Have you other files on the flash drive? You could try formatting the flash drive, but that will clear it completely, so back-up anything that is important!
It doesn't tell you how to do it in the manual, but I've just been through it on my 350E.
On the screen, press the USB tab (above Edit on the right) then Mode (bottom left) then SET. Press the right arrow (bottom right) TWICE then press YES beside "format USB memory stick" Press OK on the next screen, and let it format.Turn the machine off, remove the flash drive, and put the designs back on to it on the computer, using the folder structure that I suggested yesterday.
It should now work OK - if it still doesn't, there may be a problem with your flash drive!
By the way - if you put lots of designs on a large drive such as yours, it can takes ages for the machine to find the one you want.
The latest firmware is version 1.10 - it might be worth downloading that from the Janome website if you haven't already done so!

Transferring online patterns to machine

1. Your downloaded file must be unzipped.
2. The file needs to be saved in the format for your Singer.
3. Join this Singer support site for your Quantum and others. Ask your question there. http://www.futura-support.com/

I suspect it's a format issue. I had troubles getting my Janome to recognize my USB stick(S) Finally after an especially scathing email, they sent me a stick that worked.

Lost my sewing instruction manual when moving house. Can't remember stitch patterns adjustments. Need a new sewing manual for my Janome Decor Excel 11 5024 Thank you

Hi
You can download some partial manuals from the Janome site.
This is for the Janome D'cor Excel Pro 5124:
http://content.janome.com/documents/File/ManualFile/DecorExcelPro5124.pdf
Which should be similar to the ohter model number you mention.
Hope this helps!

I just purchased a pe770 Brother embroidery machine. Do I need anything other programs to download patterns, from my cp, to my flash drive, to use with this machine?

All you need to know when you purchase designs from the internet is that your Brother PE770 will only recognize DST and PES formatting. There isn't anything else!

How to I randfer embroidery designs on a flash

If the designs are already on a formatted* flash drive and in the format of the embroidery machine and the embroidery machine has an USB Port-A receptacle, you just plug it into the machine.

If the flash drive was not formatted for the Janome, then this may help - http://janome.com/fusetalk/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=639

Get a new flash drive and start fresh.

Create a folder on the PC's hard drive and name it Embroidery Downloads and copy or send from the flash drive you now have. Keep the flash drive as a backup.

After you format the new flash drive, you can then copy as needed from the Embroidery Downloads folder. Just do a couple.
