One day I was using the convection portion of my Sharp Carousel convention oven and I opened the door to check the food and closed it, hit the bottom to resume cooking and mechanism to make it turn (whatever that is) quit. I have not been able to get it to turn since. I am willing to take it apart if you think there is a part or something broken. Hope you can help.
Thanks,
Tina
Hello Tina,
Usually those turn tables(or lazy Susan's colloquially) are driven by a small motor. The motor attaches to a gear or spindle which transfer the rotational energy to the turn table. A plastic gear may have been broken or popped loose. It might also use a belt to transfer the energy, the belt could have worn and is now slipping which would cause the table to stay stationary.

This may be due to the microwave section not working. Check the high voltage diode if it is ok, replace the Magneton.

SOURCE: sharp carousel II microwave/convection oven
Hello, I just purchased a Sharp Carousell II convection microwave oven, also built in 1990, serial number 212806. I think the model number is R18244, but part of it is worn off. Can anyone tell me how to get a manual for it? I have never cooked with a convection oven before.
Thanks
