Can't find valve button for float (part #28110101 no longer available)

I have a Kenmore Quiet Comfort Electronic humidifier, model 758.144140. Is missing filter holders, and float switch, so is inoperable. Motor works fine. Contact me if you want the motor - [email protected]. No charge if you pay for shipping. I will include 2 filters, can include any other parts you want. Why the offer? Space in my house worth more than an inoperative appliance.

More than likely, the float valve in the top of the water collection bucket is broken or stuck in the DOWN position. Turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Remove the bucket for it's holder and empty any water that's in it. Inspect the float valve to see if it moves freely. Jiggle the arm of the float valve to see if it moves up and down freely. If it doesn't then it's stuck or broken. Hopefully, it's only stuck, because in most cases, purchasing a replacement bucket with the float valve installed is your only option.

Hello, the motor itself wont cause the unit to leak water, the float valve on the unit is what adjusts how much water is coming into the humidifier. If the float valve is not adjusted properly or broken it will cause to much water to enter the humidifierand therefrore overflow. Replace the motor and chexk the float valve to enure it is adjusted properly and if it is stuck or broken replace.

Noodles, it sounds like the float valve inside the water reservoir is stuck in the down position. Turn the water line ON/OFF valve to the humidifier OFF. Open the top of the reservoir and you will see the float valve. Gently, lift it up, to see if it will remain at the top of the water level, which left in the reservoir. It it doesn't, then the float needs to be replaced. In the mean time, leave the water line ON/OFF Valve OFF.

The humidifier has a float valve in it much like a toilet tank does. If the water gets to low, the float valve should allow more water to enter the tank automatically. When it reaches the proper level, the float valve stops the water. The water line (either copper or plastic) coming into the humidifier should have a shutoff valve on it. Make sure that it is turned on.

If your sure you have water supply to the unit,the float switch/valve is either clogged or defective.

Turn the unit off, lift the fan assembly off the base, and push the connector together that goes to the float switch on the bottom of the fan motor. If you hold the switch in with your finger (careful not to get into the fan blades) and turn the unit on, the F indication should go away. F (as in Fill), apparently, means the base has no water. The plastic tube that sticks up out of the base floats on the water and pushes the switch. Put it back together, it should work!
