SOURCE: hobart handler 140 will not feed wire

A schematic would certainly help, give Hobart a call and ask for a wiring diagram. or manual. Hobart are very helpful and may even give you guidance, you may have to pay the postage, they usually fax these documents so it will not cost you anything.

SOURCE: Have Hobart 140 Handler, The

You need to look at the wiring diagram to see what parts could be causing the problem. I had a 120 that did the same thing and it was the bridge rectifier that was bad. I unhooked my motor and hooked it to my battery charger to see if it was good.Hope this helps. I will see if I can find a diagram to look at and check back later to see if you have fixed the problem.

SOURCE: Hello, I have a Hobart

Sound like you have a bad trigger on the gun. Does gas spray when you pull the trigger? Check the wire plug that goes from the pistol to the unit. It should be under the liner hose where it connects to the machine. Then use a voltage meter on the wires going to the drive feed motor, and see if you get current when you pull the trigger. If gas doesn't spray neither, sounds like you got a bad trigger switch

The gas won't shut off once I release the trigger, sometimes the wire continues as well.

Hi:The solenoid valve gets the current once the switch is activated (pressed) therefore my opinion is that you have a sticky trigger. or one of the terminals of the cables it's shorting out.Change the trigger or better yet check that the terminals are clear and not touching other parts of the handle.

Hobart handler 135, the wire starts to feed for about 15 seconds then slows and stops.

Hi:
Don't know how old is your unit but my guess is that your gun's liner is the problem. Have you change it lately? If not, change it. Does your machine just stops feeding the wire or does it shuts down? If it just stop then; is the liner, if it shuts down; then you have a pc board problem.

Wire feed wont stop

Hi:
Your trigger switch must be bridging the contacts, open the gun's handle and check the wires.

I have a hobart 135 handler that with machine plugged in and turned on the wire has constant juice and the gas cylonoid is flowing gas from the bottle without the trigger being pressed. my dealer said it...

Hi:
Have you disconnect the gun's power plug? If the wire and gas stop flowing by doing this action, then your problem is the gun's trigger. If the machine continues to feed gas and wire with the gun disconnected then yes, it is the pc board.
Good luck.

My hobart handler 120 will not feed wire. took the feed motor off and tested. Its good. checked the trigger connections and they are both in good shape. The gas valve does click when the trigger is pulled....

First take our the spool of wire, then without any wire restriction, disconnect the gun from the machine and bridge the trigger connection, if the solenoid valve opens then the motor shoulod run. If it does, then check the trigger on your gun, take it off and bridge the cables, if it runs then your trigger switch is faulty.

Wire burning betwen rool and feed drive

When you pull the trigger the entire spool of wire and anything metal that touches it becomes electrically hot. If the tail end of the spool is hanging loose and touches something on or connected to the chassis it will do that, and could have welded the connection so it's solid.
