Freezer part doesn't freeze door was part open for hours

Hi !
Our freezer door was a gap open for about 8 hours. The temp display was certainly blinking. We cleaned the thawed stuff out and re-powered the freezer. Since then the freezer part doesn't seem to get colder than 41F. I checked the rear for frozen pipes but it looked ok. I then left the fridge off for an hour and restarted it. No help. Any idea what I could do?

The coil inside of the freezer is probebly still frozen up with ice. Take a shop vac and open the freezer side after shutting the unit off and blow the air from the shop vac into the vents that are on the back side of the freezer until you can feel good air flow out of the very bottom of the freeezer. You can contact me and I will assist you if you need more help.

Ge bottom freezer not freezing

Check to see that the evaporator is not covered with layer of ice. The latter serves as an insulator and prevents freezer temps from going down to about zero degrees. If the defrost heater/timer is defective that will certainly be a cause. Since the freezer air is not cold enough to freeze, then the refrigerator temps are also high. Using a digital thermometer will confirm this.

Leaking door gaskets can also be responsible for higher internal temps

I have a sharp fridge SJ-P49N-SL. A recent power outtage in the area lasted 8 hours. When the power came back on, the fridge seemed to be ok. But, after 5-6 hours of operation, the freezer is not cold...

Checked Freezer Fan is working. Also checked defrost Fuse in freezer.
To checked freezer fan is working or not open freezer door press Door Switch and checked Cold air is coming from duct or not.

Fridge freezer hotpoint fridge wont get cold!! and the freezer is not freezing

Empty the freezer & fridge, turn the unit off, leave the door open for 24 hours, to let all the ice melt off the coils, then turn it back on & make SURE the doors are closed well.... You will know that this was the problem in about 3 hours, when the freezer is back at normal temp.....

Be sure to put some towels in front of the unit, and also inside the freezer when it is off, as you may have more water (melted ice) than the drain pan can handle.....

FREEZER ERRATIC. Will work for 6 to 12 hours and

You will have to remove the inside rear freezer panel .The # 4 thermistor is bad . This tells the main control board , the temp of the coils , if they need defrosted , when they are thru defrosting . This thermistor is the 1 " long , torpedo looking piece , clipped on the top left of the coils , with 2 white wires going to it . Part number WR55X10025 . It would be advisable to also replace the # 5 thermistor , located at the bottom of the freezer , slightly in front of the drain , also with 2 white wires going to it , slid into a housing . This thermistor , is the freezer thermistor , which tells the control board , the freezer temp and when to cycle off due to temp setting .
