Upper oven broiler element activated full hot (cherry red) with bake selected on touch pad. F2 & F5 fault code displayed. Fan was not running.

Boone, by the sound of your post it sounds like the power relay board could be bad. If you had a stuck or shorted keypad, you should be getting a different code. The F2 code means an overheated condition. If it's a double oven it could mean a secondary board failure. The way to go on this would be to ohm out the temp sensor first. Should read about 1100 ohms at room temp. Another way to check it is to swap the bake and broil wires on the power relay board. They will be marked BA and BR. Fire the oven up again and if the bake element comes on then you know that the broil relay is stuck or shorted. Without being there to do the tests, I believe that the problem lies in the power relay board. The part number for the board is 71003431. Priced around 116.00. Jenn-Air usually has a 5 year warranty on these parts. Hope this points you in the right direction. Catriver..post back
SOURCE: F0 fault code
Hi ,
F0 is Function key faulty.
Replace touch pad or clock assembly (also called the ERC)
You can find parts online at partselect.com , or appliancespartspro .
SOURCE: Jenn-Air Wall Oven Model #WW30430P F5 Fault Code
I have the exact same problem with an F5 fault code. I also have a new clock assembly. RepairClinic.com said "Jenn Air fault code F5 = Hardware and watchdog circuits disagree / Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC)
Jenn Air Fault code for newer models F5 = Power to element relays disabled in cook mode
1. Intermittent oven temperature sensor or wire harness or,
2. Intermittent contact on power relay board"
This doesn't help since it is too technical. What should I do next?

hello,
(indication of problem)
This error code
on a oven indicates a keypad short on the Electronic Range
Control (ERC) board. This is the clock/timer on the operator console.
The recommended fix is to replace the ERC. You can generally find
replacement parts at these websites:
searspartsdirect.com pcappliancerepair.comappliancepartspros.com repairclinic.com
All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare.
Replacing an ERC is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by
the average do-it-your self offer. If you decide to order the part and wish
to repair this on your own, follow these steps:
1. UNPLUG the range. Dangerous voltage is still present inside even with the range turned off.
2. Pull the range away from the wall and turn the unit around so you can access the rear panel.
3. Remove the screws on the back of the operator console.
4. Carefully disconnect the connector plugs to the ERC. Take note of
how they are connected, so that you can reinstall them correctly.
NOTE: The connectors are usually color coded with the colors printed on
the circuit board. However, if the colors are not printed on the board,
write them down. (A digital camera also comes in real handy for this).
5. With the connectors removed, remove the mounting screws to the ERC and the assembly will come out.
NOTE: Most replacement ERC boards do not come with the overlay. This is
the plastic pre-printed number display. The overlay can easily be
peeled off and re-used. Just make sure you properly orient the overlay
so that you don't inadvertently place it on the new board upside down.
If your existing overlay is damaged, you will need to order separately.
6. Install new ERC using the steps provided in reverse order. Minimize
handling the new circuit board with your bare hands to avoid damaging
the board.
I hope this information helps you.
thank you for using fixya.

Hi
You'll need to check the oven temperature sensor and the contacts on the power relay board (PRB). You'll need a multimeter to check the resistance of the temperature sensor, multimeter would read between 1140-1150 ohms. If you notice any deviation in the reading then you'll need to replace the temperature sensor. Hope this helps... Please post back with model # if you need more information.
