good day sir your problem is on the back light of your TV..the upper side is not function because the back-light lamp is busted and the lower part is good so you have to do is replace the upper side.. I teach you to do that first,remove the cover of your TV by removing all screw at the back side then you remove the plastic cover of unit secondly,when you see the inverter board,power supply and main board remove it thirdly,remove the steel cover of the LCD screen to see the back light bulb or lamp and finally, after you see the lamp replace it with a new one only the top side lamp is busted so that's the only lamp you replace thank you

Lamp is dead/ broken in your tv and need to be replaced as lamp light blinks showing that problem. Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual. It sounds that lamp in TV is weak and not throwing enough light to bright the screen for good image. How old is this TV and did you replaced its Lamp recently? If lamp has not been replaced yet or in last 2-3 years, replace it.
Actually that humming sound was not the lamp, the humming sounds come from color wheels when they're going out, and since the color wheel is part of the light engine system and it's not working, that's why you don't have an image, you'll probably ask your self why, since it's not the lamp..
the thing is that the light engine system is componed by lamp, ballast, color wheel and dmd board, so when one of these doesn't work, there will be no image reflected, because they work together
i have a 56DR650 and it does them same thing. It is still under warranty but where i bought it, they said they can no longer fix it so they are giving my money back. the problem has to do with the color wheel inside.
If the red light stays steady, and the green light blinks 9 times then repeats, it is most likely the lamp #23311083A about $200. Otherwise, if a cooling fan is not working, it could possibly cause a shutdown problem. You can't always tell a bulb is bad by looking at it. Another possibility is the lamp ballast, but I would try a new bulb first.
