Unplug, remove battery, plug in, reboot. Is the Network Wired or Wireless? If wireless, connect a Ethernet cable, does it connect? post results. Verify the Network Adapter is enabled in Device Manager.

Have you connected a Ethernet Cable to the ISP modem? Yes or No? If yes to both, have you rebooted the ISP modem and wireless device? Checked ALL the cables? reseated the cables? Is there any other device connected to the wireless? Is it listed in software on the laptop Available Wireless Networks?

OK , What is the Model of the Acer Aspire? Win 7 drivers will be easy to find. You could do this, Open Device Manager, Network Adapter, Right click the Network adapter that is showing driver required, Uninstall the adapter, reboot the laptop, allow Win 7 to ID the adapter and apply the correct driver, ( your laptop came with Win 7?) , Reboot to apply the driver, do Windows and Acer Updates.

SOURCE: My acer aspire one mini notebook doesnt connect to internet

This will happen if you let the battery go completely dead. Some files become corrupted.
Solution:- Right click on Settings (preferences some models). Select 'Network' then double click on 'gFTP'. Scroll down to '.gconf' and double click. select and double click on 'system'. Right click on 'Networking'. Scroll down to 'Delete'. Left click on 'Delete'. Confirm 'YES'. Turn off the computer, then restart. What you have done now forces the computer to re-create the networking file. Your networking icon should re-appear on the taskbar. Note this is only for LINUX systems. - Good Luck!

SOURCE: i cant get into my internet settings !acer aspire

I know nothing about Linux and had the same problem. I found this on another site as I have been searching for an answer. Just finished as instructed and it has worked. Just in case I renamed the folder rather than deleting it! "Follow this then restart and everything should come back to normal. It took me 3 minutes and worked fine.

This is to find and delete the networking folder (which is causing the problem):

1. From the regular Aspire One options page, go to the Files panel
2. Click on the triangle to see more icons
3. Click on MyFiles, which opens a file manager window.
4. In the menu bar, select View->Hidden files, to show a tick in the box. You should be in the "My Disk:///" directory.
5. Scroll down until you find folder "gconf" and then click on that
6. Find folder "system" and click on that
7. You should now see folder "networking" listed as one of the folders.
8. DELETE IT! (Right click on the networking folder, and select option delete.)

I just restarted from here and the icon re appeared in bottom right the menu bar, I just clicked on it to set it up with my wifi signal and it did the rest itself. " Have fun and dont panic!

SOURCE: Cant access internet through wireless network.

if it flashes orange it is trying to connect and detect the internet, if you are connected to your wireless router but no internet check the security keys on the router and the laptop if they are the same, I guess you get the error limited connectivity, and if possible check for programs that could cause your wireless to not get the internet but get connected to the router, check for network magic uninstall the program from your system restart the computer try connecting again.

worst case that can happen is you can try uninstalling the wireless drivers and reinstalling it if the wireless devices gets an error during installation of the driver then you will need to replace your wireless card in your laptop, orange flashing in router meaning it does not detect internet from the modem ^_^

I have acer aspire 5740g windows 7 64 bit. i used wireless wifi till now. but now switched to ethernet or wired network. but i cant connect. local area connection does not show up in my network connec

You will have to open up your network connections Click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark ! ? you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled. Make sure your antivirus program is not blocking the internet connection. If you are trying to connect through a modem/router you it should have come with a disk then you might have to connect the usb lead to your modem to get a connection then Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to network adapters should see a yellow question ? exclamation mark ! or a red X right click install drivers. The driver might be on the disc supplied by your ISP internet service provider or the motherboard disc You only need to check the BIOS if you cant install the driver Make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys navigate to integrated peripherals look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter scroll to SiS 10/100m press enter make sure its "Enabled"ima Click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode type in ipconfig press enter you will see all of your internet connection details type in your default gateway adress into your internet search should read something like 10.0.0.138

Wireless lan not working on my acer aspire 4520

The wireless feature (Wireless LAN) on an Acer notebook allows you to connect to available networks. This convenience allows you to use the Internet with network cables, modems or network installation. Acer laptops come with a wireless switch to turn the wireless feature on or off. Once you enable the wireless feature, your Acer notebook can connect to wireless networks within range.

Instructions:
1.Locate the Wireless LAN switch located on the front of your Acer Notebook. Move the switch to the right to turn on Wireless connections.

2.Right-click the network icon located on the system tray next to the clock. You should see a list of available wireless networks.

3.Select the network you want to connect to and click "Connect."

Acer Netbook is "Connected" but can't use internet

You first need to establish that you have internet available to your router via cable modem, dsl, etc. Unless your modem is also your wireless router. Take your ethernet connection or cable that resembles a large phone cable and plug in your Acer One directly into the router. You should then be able to get internet. If not, you may have a problem with your internet in general and need to contact your Internet Service Provider. Also if possible try another pc, see if it has internet. Lastly try reinstalling wireless diver in device manager.

Can't get on the internet

Have you had Internet connection before this happened? Seems like the connection problem is with your modem. Try this-- Pull the power plug from your modem AND the router. Wait 30 sec. or so and put the power plug back in the modem. Let it go through the self-test phase. (All the lights will stop blinking when complete.) Next, Plug in your router and let it go through the self-test phase. When the router finish, try to connect again.

You may have to double click on your network connection (the 2 pcs in the lower right hand corner) select disable, then enable the connection and try to connect to the internet. If you have any problem, post a comment and we will go from there. Good Luck.
