Right shifter doesn't work

Chrysler doesn\'t sell this part alone, they sell the whole Shifter Box for over 200 dollars. Autozone sells this piece(park lockout mechanism) and its made from metal, I replaced it on my daughters 300 a few months ago

Procedure is as follows: Just stick a long screwdriver through the square hole just above the shift gear knob, not where the rubber surround is but above that after you take off the silver chrome plate surrounding the shift knob of course. line the screw driver up with the little cable you will see down in there about 3 inches push that to the left and pull your shifter knob to the right YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE BREAK while you do this, if it doesn\'t work its because the spring that is attached snapped the hook off the pink plastic part, try the following

1 Break down that center console!, if you need to move the car immediately to get home or to your garage or shop then its not a problem if you have a few tools, start popping the trim off the shifter assy, pull up and out on the small storage compartment to the right of the shifter, this will uncover a small pink lever (which will get you at least on the road but may not work if this is broken , it was on my daughters car), if it is you need to go deeper! Take out the rubber mat directly under the ash tray and cigarette lighter, this will expose two philips head screws, undo them, move through trim with a flathead and keep prying trim off until you have the shifter assy visible, if your shift knob is giving you problems, try sliding the very bottom chrome plastic trim down then the knob up as you spread the white plastic at the base of the leather.

2 Ok your down to the shifter, now with the key in and the car running press and hold the pink lever on the right side of the shifter, there is also second pink part( this is the cheap piece of junk that has you doing what your doing) on the front of the shifter assy, press this pink part as well and as always with your foot on the brake try to shift, you should be in good shape, now to limp back to your proper repair facility of choice (your house) Shift into drive and only reverse if you need to, when you park leave in neutral and hit the parking brake,

change the outer gear shifter for 1-3 teeth up or down.

The car has a brake light powered Park lock, so if the brake lights are not working when the pedal is pressed the car will not come out of park. Check the brake lights first. Also the owners manual should have a set of instructions to bypass the part lock, it varies with each car but some you turn the key to just short of the on position and wiggle the shifter while doing that, others there is a button hidden on the shift console. I would look it up but MB doesn't allow free access to the owners manuals of thier cars and trucks.

My escort is stuck in fourth it's not the clutch or the shifter I have no clue it's moves right where it goes into the tranny but it's stuck in high gear and just is really boggy

That cylinder is known as the clutch slave cylinder. It should push against the clutch fork every time the clutch pedal is depressed to allow gear changes. If it doesn't, suspect a faulty slave cylinder, or clutch master cylinder.

remove trim pieces on column and check for loose or broken pieces on shifter

The 2nd gear lockout is, a mechanical speed sensing mechanism. It doesn't care if the engine is running. You bypass it by scooting the bike forward, about 5-6 mph, while shifting the transmission into 2nd gear.

Stand on the left side of the bike, with the ignition "ON" and the transmission in neutral.
3 With your right foot on the ground, behind your left foot: place your left foot on the left foot peg, with your toe under the shifter; squeeze in the clutch.
*4.Scoot the bike forward about 5-6 mph, with your right foot, and shift the transmission into 2nd gear, with your left foot. If you accidentally go into 3rd, or some higher gear, you can easily shift back down into 2nd, without further movement of the bike.
5.To start the bike: Apply the choke if the engine is cold. Squeeze in the clutch and push the bike forward, both feet on the ground, about 8-12 mph. Release the clutch until the engine start

As soon as the engine starts: squeeze in the clutch and shift the bike into neutral.

I am assuming that your car is stuck in park and cannot move the shifter. Check to see if your brake lights are working. If not there is a switch that is located at the top of your brake pedal arm that needs to be replaced. It is attached to the arm by a plastic clip that you can squeeze together with a pair of pliers. Even if your brake lights do not work this could still be your problem. This part is called the brake light switch. You should be able to obtain the part at on of your parts houses. Hope this helps.

my car got stuck in park several times, i'm the brake lights would come on but i couldnt push the button to make my car move out of park...there's a tab on the right side at the top of the gear shifter console pop it out, stick a skrew driver down in and that should release it if that's your problem...it's a little bit of a rig, but it works, havent been stuck in park since

Is the shifter on the floor. I hit the shifter serveral times to engae the shifter button. In the winter it seems to get stuck
