Horizontal Bars Across Screen

I'm assuming you're dealing with an LCD flat panel monitor.

If you've tried different input and from different computers and different cables, and you're still seeing vertical red lines, it's highly likely that the LCD is failing and there's not much that can be done easily to fix it. You will probably need to replace the LCD panel.

If the red lines are in different locations each time you power on, then it could be a controller board issue. But, if the lines are always in the same place, it's probably the LCD panel itself.

disconnect all the cables except the power cable and then turn the monitor on you would see a test screen if it still happens your monitor is faulty and better buy a new one as repairing is usually expensive .also check you warrenty its usually 3 years

this can be in your video cable or LCD Connector issue. but most problem is in the flex cable of LCD. some other cases cannot be fix and replace new LCD Screen.

I hope your TV model is Sony KV-G21M1 and you see color bars as horizontal lines across the screen.
Let me now are you tech guy or know how to repair TV to guide you further.

If the bars appear on the screen regardless of the computer connected to the system, then the problem is the LCD itself.
If the issue only occurs connected to a particular system, then the video adapter in the system is bad.

You can also try different calbes and different inputs (DVI, Analog/VGA) and see if there is any difference. Again, if the lines are always there, regardless of input cable or system, then the LCD is failing

You can check with a local TV repair shop about an LCD replacement, or you can check places like EBay for replacement monitors

i have a whie line going horizontal all the way across the sceen. how do i get rid of it?

The contrast may be to high.
Adjust the brightness and contrast to make it go away but still readable.
if that does not help the FL (backlight) is going and the unit will need to be replaced.

It sounds like one of the flexes on the LCD cube has either become unplugged/ loose, (there is a gate that locks the flex in connector on the DMD board), or flex damaged. Has the TV recently been moved or strongly jarred?
