Hi,
I just posted that I had the same problem with the Elura 100 not taking the cassette, although the compartment will close without a cassette. And I did have the problem with the left wheel rewinding, then the beep occurs.
I was tinkering a bit. I decided to take some video on the SD card, and I let it record for a moment. After that, I went back to trying to get the cassette compartment closed, and it worked! Almost like the camera needed reset.
We'll see if it stays corrected!
Prior to that, I have tried using a can of air, loading a new cassette, etc. And I DEFINITELY did NOT have any condensation!
Hope that works for ya!
I had the same problem with my camera and tried the
solutions listed on the web like banging on the side of it, pulling out the
battery and putting it under a 60 watt bulb. I eventually sent it to a repair
shop and this is what they had to say. The motor starts to wear out and turns
at a slightly slower speed than normal which will mess up the recording
process. The camera detects there is a problem with the motor speed and will
not allow you to put another tape into the camera since it won't be able to
record properly and protects you from wasting tapes. The fix is to replace the
servo motor. It is going to cost me $127.00 to replace the motor and have it
cleaned. I asked if this is a problem with just Canon Eluras in particular. He
said he has seen this happen with various brands of cameras. The motors just
eventually wear out.

hi,
is it close without a cassette ? if so the reel sensor in the cassette compartment may be faulty. if the head drum not rotates the cassette drive will not work correctly, if so please loosen the head drum with a plastic rod or some tools like that. do not put your finger in hence sometimes will jam your finger. remember don"t touch the scanning chip of the head.
there is a risk of hardware damage.make sure you dont force the tape into the cassette compartment to avoid damage to the unit or tape.here's what you can do.
1.remove the tape from the compartment.
2.ensure proper type and size of tape is used.
3.ensure no packaging material or foreign material inside the compartment.
4.if attempting to record, make sure cassette tape rec/save switch is set to rec position.
5.reinsert the tape, make sure it's properly inserted.
6.if still won't close or tape ejected again, remove tape.
7.reinsert a diff tape.
8.attempt to close compartment.
9.if issue unresolved, press the tiny reset button while cam is powered on (located in the panel where the lcd screen goes to,just below all the other buttons). you may also do a power reset procedure: remove batt, remove ac adaptor, set power switch to vcr, leave the cam without power for at least a minute, switch power back to off, reinsert ac adaptor/batt and turn cam on, attempt to close tape compartment.
if issue persists, service would be needed. hope this helps.thanks:)
choices
1.get new battery
OR
2.put charger on and operate window with charger attached, run charger at 10-15 amps
OR
3 tape window shut with plastic and packing tape
I have a kodak cx7430 that one day just wouldn't come on properly. All I got was a red light, no matter what batteries I tried. So I began to wonder if this was a ploy of Kodak's to get people to buy new cameras...I don't know if that's true, but I did find a little switch in the battery compartment that was open. I noticed I could close the switch with a pen tip, but it wouldn't stay closed, so I taped it closed with a piece of electrical tape...and guess what...THE CAMERA NOW WORKS PERFECTLY.
I don't know if this is true, but I heavily suspect that this switch opens after X amount of use... because I know 2 other people who's cameras have done the same thing...sooner with heavy use and longer with light use.... LOOK FOR THE SWITCH, TAPE IT AND TRY IT! Email me if it works for you [email protected]
Had the same problem, replaced the regular Alkaline batteries with NiMH rechargeables and it works. Must be something in the in camera battery settings. It still wont work with regular alkalines. Go Figure.
I Had The Same Issue And Fixed It :o) I Have A Sony Handycam CCD F-730A 8mm. I put the tape in and close it but it would not load the tape down. It just pop back out. If I took the tape out, it works perfectly and would loaded the tape doc down and close.
1st: I unscrewed and removed the door to the tape. Where the tape can be seen. 2 screws hold it down. Without the tape inside. I Saw a Clear Small Plastic in the inside of the camera where the tape sits on each side. On Both Sides, Left and Right are clear plastic like sensors. They look Like Glass and are small.
2nd: I Cleaned them both with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. It Worked. The tape loaded and worked nicely.
It was strange. If i touched one of the small glass like sensors. the mechanism the loede the tape would not work. When The Glass sensor was blocked by the tape or just by my finger in front of it, it would not load. Very strange.
Hi
I see your having the washing machine won't spin problem. The first thing I would sugest is to disconect the AC power from the machine. The next step is to remove the front panel from the machine. Look at the top lid for a plastic tip that fits into a keyhole in frame. Underneath there there's a safty switch. This switch is designed to stop the machine from spinning if the lid is open. Sometimes the switch gets corroded over the years. It may have to be replaced or adjusted to align with the plastic tip whin the lid is closed. The black thing hanging down from the motor you described could just be some electrical tape the manufacture uses the bundle the wires from the motor. Some manufactures use a spring to keep the wires from the motor from interfering with any moving parts.
Hope this helps.
