SOURCE: HP C3180 all in one printer won't realign

Hi,

We've encountered several problem like this. Hope this gives an idea; I understand the cartridge will not moved back to park tray or flash ink tray back and forth because the return pick-up guide were not properly placed into each original position. It will block the ink tray moving back and forth. You can roll back the roller into the original place by removing the back cover if it has, then turn the pick-up roller slowly allowing the roller to turn and backed to its original position. Removed also remains of jammed paper pieces.

Best regards,

SOURCE: hP officejet wireless 6500 printer won't print

Yes I will tell you why Kodak photo paper is a little thicker in size and you should not get this same error message if you use hp photo paper or regular photo paper.See of this helps.....

Issue The Out of Paper message appears on the computer and the product stops picking up or feeding paper. Solution Step one: Reset the product

  1. Without turning the product off, remove the power cord from the back of the product.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord into the back of the product.
  3. If the product is not already on, use the On button to turn it on.
Step two: Check the condition of the paper and reload it
  1. Replace any paper that is ripped, dusty, curled, wrinkled, or bent.
  2. Make sure that all the paper is the same size and type. Because only one type of paper can be used in the product at a time, paper types should never be mixed.
  3. Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
  4. Make sure that the stack of paper to be loaded in the product contains no fewer than 10 and no more than 25 sheets of paper.
NOTE: Do not load too much paper in the product.
  5. Insert the stack of paper into the product and gently push the paper guides snugly against the paper. Make sure that the paper is completely inserted into the product and can be picked up by the paper rollers.
  6. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, try loading different brands of paper and different types of paper, one type at a time, into the product and then try printing again. If the issue persists, continue with the next step.
Step three: Adjust the paper settings in the print driver The paper settings in the print driver must match the paper settings for at least one of the installed paper trays.
  1. Open a document in the program being used to print.
  2. Click File , click Print , and then click Properties . The product Properties dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.
  4. Choose the appropriate paper size from the Size is drop-down menu.
  5. Choose the appropriate paper type from the Type is drop-down menu.
  6. Click OK and then click OK again to print the document..
  7. If the issue is not resolved, continue with the next step.
Step four: Clean the rollers
  1. Turn off the product and unplug the power cord.
  2. Open the access door to gain access to the rollers. Depending on the model, this is usually the rear access door. See the product user guide for information about locating the rollers.
  3. Clean the rubber rollers with a lint-free cloth, lightly moistened with water.
  4. Make sure that any paper rollers that rest on the input tray, which are located behind the back rollers, are cleaned. A clean cotton swab, lightly moistened with water, might be necessary to reach these rollers.
  5. Close the access door and plug in the power cord.
  6. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, continue to the next step.
Step five: Service the product If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product. CauseAny of the following issues can cause the error message to appear:
  • The paper trays are empty or overloaded.
  • The paper is curled.
  • The print side, or shiny side, of the paper is not loaded in the input tray face down.
  • The paper might not be engaged with the feed rollers.
  • The paper-width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly.
  • The paper tray is not completely inserted into the product.
  • The paper settings in the print driver do not match the paper loaded in the paper tray.
  • The rubber paper-feed rollers are coated with dust.

I keep getting a false paper jam and I have followed the steps in clearing a paper jam. there is no paper jam, however when I put the duplex cartriage back into the printer and press ok to clear it now...

If you have cleared off the paper jammed within then it is possible that errors have crept into the drivers. sometimes the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.

In right side there is a spring tidely back side of the printer. then open all the parts from left side and right side. put of the plastic sensor that are sruck right to left in the back side of the printer. Then put off iron rod into the ink cartrige carrier. Then try to put off cartrige carrier from the printer ( where the carrier is parked). Then look the belt in the back of the cartrige carrier. HP PSC 1610 printer gives error message: Carriage Jam, clear carriage. I open the door and there isn't a Jam. I tried the solution (clean cartridge, turn off/on couldn't reset) posted by nanotech 9 Aug...

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

  • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
  • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
  • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

It's says there is a paper jam and there isn't, then the ink cartriages keep popping up and makes loud noise...

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck

I'm trying to replace black color cartridge, but get an error message: carrier jam How do I unjam it? Already did the unplug- check for paper jam and replug...no luck!

Remove all paper...(inspect closely for paper jammed way inside!)

also remove both ink cartriges, reinsert them one at a time carefully and properly....also double check the number code on the ink

the jam error could be either paper or cartriges confusing the printer. let me know if it works....k

Carrier jam on dell 924 printer??

I was able to fix this issue on my all-in-one 944 printer. What happened was that one of the ink cartridge lids had popped open. The hard part was that the carrier was stuck on the far left side, and I wasn't able to pull it over for easer access. However, I was able to fit a finger in and push the cartridge back down. Then when I turned the printer back on the error went away.

Hope this helps
