I suggest you try to deal this problem with the official service. Water damages aren't covered by the guarranty but most times are not detectable. In case they don't accept, the damaged part must be the flex cable that connects the power button. May be the flex cable that connects the button to the motherboard is damaged. This part is cheap and easy to install.

A U2, is normally caused by the toner cartridge not communicating with the main board.
Try removing and re installing the cartridge a few times.
If that doesn't work try replacing it with a new cartridge.
The memory may have dumped also. In that case a new memory or main board would be required.
