the card will work in your hp if you have the expresscard slot on either side of the laptop, take a peak in the slot - remove the plastic holded from it, look at the shape of this card, if the slot matches then yes.

this tv tuner uses NTSC for analog tv and ATSC+ for digital TV.

NTSC is used mainly in the united states and australia uses PAL format.

so most likely this card would not work in australia, unless you know there is digital ATSC+ format available.
