Honeywell HE360A1027 Whole House Humidifier Humidifier Logo

I have a Honeywell HE360A Humidifier and everything is installed now I am trying to wire it. The wiring diagram is very vague. Does anyone know how to correctly wire this? I have the humidifier, a mechanical Humidistat and a Sail Switch. I started the wiring based on the installation video but it doesn't exactly cover the HE360A installation, only the lower model. The wiring includes a red and white wire.

SOURCE: Wiring issue with the Honeywell HE360A Humidifier

Maybe I can help. this is 24v so it doestn't matter which wire goes where so here goes. 2 wires from humidistat go to furnace, split one of the wires(not both) so they reach the yellow wires on the humidifier. with marettsconnect one of the split wires to one of the yellow wires. do the same to the other split wire and yellow wire. what you should get is one wire from humidistat to furnace then one wire from humidifier to humidistat and one from humidifier to furnace. hope this helps

I am replacing a kenmore 3000 humidifier with a Honeywell HE360A. Can I use the same electrical wires for the hoenywell that are allready there from the kenmore?

How did your replacment turn out? I also have a 3000 and am looking for a replacment unit where I do not have to make a lot of changes.

INSTALLED HE360A, FAN MOTOR RUNS, EVEN WHEN FURNACE IS OFF? IS THIS NORMAL

Yes - but it doesn't have to work that way. There are several methods you can use to have the humidifier run only when the furnace runs. Look on the back page of the installation instructions. The method I chose was to install a sail switch. This is a switch with a arm attached which has a "sail' attached to it. When the furnace blower runs, the sail catches the blower airflow and activates the switch; allowing the humidifier to operate.
You can also wire in a current sensing relay (figure 6 on the instructions) or connect the humidifier directly into the furnace motor ignition box (if so equipped. My furnace dates to the late 70's and has no place to plug in a humidifier; which is why I installed a sail switch.)
Now however I probably would go with the current sensing relay option as this looks to be the easiest route to follow. Honeywell has their 32001754-001 avaliable for less than $35 from Sears.

Humidifier will not turn on (no fan, no water flow)

A breakdown diagram of parts etc above.

Shows you the HE360A.
To me it sounds like it is wired incorrectly, the solenoid should NOT get too hot at all. The PDF above shows wiring data.

Water not flowing into HE360A

If you used the plastic tubing to the humidifier(I recomend copper) there should have been a little brass tube with a flare on it. This goes in the plastic tubing to grip the the sleeve better. See if this helps

Water keeps running to Honewell 360A Whole House Humidifier

You may need to replace the valve that is wired to the furnace that controls the water flow

Humidifier intermittently won't shut off with blower

THAT MODEL COMES WITH A BUILT-IN AIR FLOW SWITCH (IF I RECALL CORRECTLY) THAT CAN GO BAD ... IN THE OLD DAYS WE JUST POWERED THE HUMIDIFIER BY CONNECTING IT TO THE LOW SPEED (FOR HEAT) OF THE BLOWER MOTOR. HONEYWELL HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEIR RESIDENTIAL AIR-FLO SWITCHES ON HUMIDIFIERS AND THEIR ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANERS. AND THEY ARE THE HIGHEST PRICED ON THE MARKET.
