Is my Mainboard Asrock 4core1333-glan r2.0 supports Sparkle NVIDIA GEFORCE 9600GT 512MB DDR3 VRAM?

Yes, no problem. Just use the extra power connector on the video card and don't try to overclock it.

After 5 min. screen blanks out then on two or three times then goes blank completely to standby mode

Sir,
To me it seem the Driver setting of Card or the power managment problem of you Computer. You are suggested to click on control panel and there go on to power management then do all the Power options to "NEVER" option in them. this might fix your problem

How do I install a 2g stick of memory into gt5408 ? What nvidia video card can I use to upgrade from the Intel graghics card for around $100. ? Thanks in advance for your responses !

Gateway GT5408/H has 4 slots for memory. Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 or DDR2 PC2-6400 with a maximum of 1GB per slot. It will not support a 2GB stick.

ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT Eco 512MB cards are about that range and give you a good warranty as well.

Video card not installing

Did you make sure you uninstalled the original 9600gt driver, other than that you could try safe mode with networking and download/install the driver.

Updated driver problem.

Well you should probably roll back that driver to the previous version. Doesn't sound like it gave you the correct new driver for the card or it wouldn't be messing up like that.

Choosing Graphics card.

NVidia Geforce series, i have found is the most reliable and less likely to screw with your system in a negative way like Radeon.

I have used all forms of video cards in the past. the GeForce series is stable. I have a Dual HDMI output card myself, its only a 512mb DDR2 but it does the work load of MMORPG's with ease and my system very rarely has issues unless i am trying to run more than i rightly should. So my suggestion is the GF9600T. It is powerful beyond beleif and will make resolution and texture ratio through the roof.

Thats my professional opinion on this.
