Toshiba 2100TB tuning without the remote control

I've been given a second hand toshiba 2100TB tv. It came without the remote control. My sky remote works to change channels, volume etc.
however i need to tune in another frequency and dont know how to without the original remote control. there appear to be no way i can do this manually on the tv.

    I have exactly the same problem, I have used a universal remote however it' wont let me bring up a menu or anything

    The PROG button on my Sony Remote Control RM ED008 is sticking hence unable to change TV channel with that button. I think the remote needs dismantling to clean. Do you know how to dismantle it without breaking it.

If you are sure, that there's no way to do it manually on the TV, there are only two solutions: buy a new remote control according to your TV set model (sometimes it's hard to find) or buy a universal remote control

Hello

There is no MRNU button on the front panel of your Toshiba TV. So it is impossible to tune it manually. You must have its remote control to select MENU options. OK.

0156 works for me 3/1/2015

Turn on your Toshiba TV.
Press the TV button on your Sky remote control.
Hold the Select and RED buttons for several seconds until the LED blinks twice then release.
Press the TV button again
Enter the 4 digit brand code: 0156 - the LED will blink twice
Point the remote at the TV and press the Stand by button.
If the television goes into Stand By press the SELECT button to store this code.
If the TV does not go in to Stand by mode, press the TV button and repeat from step 6

I've found two codes that work fine on a revision 8 Sky remote control and a revision 8r remote:

0056 (LG/Goldstar)
981 (General reset)

Both codes enable volume, channel selection and power on/off.

My Toshiba 2939DB needs to be tuned in to pick up SKY. I cannot tune the TV as I do not have the original remote control - any tips?
HELLO
There are many companies on the net that make generic remote controls for TV,VCR etc and it may be possible to obtain an original. If you Google "Replacement remote controls" then I'm sure you'll find one. Don't be tempted by these cheap remotes where you get a code book with them, many of them will NOT operate certain functions of the TV, including tuning. Beware!
Your problem seems to be that you want to tune the Sky box into the TV via the RF output of the box. Why not connect it by scart socket? You'll get a much better picture and if your set is nicam, stereo sound too.

Yes, very often after removing the batteries to replace them in a sky handset, you do need to re-code the hand set to your type of TV. Refer to your user guide for the code number for your type & model of TV.

RECENTY PURCHASED SECOND HAND TV WITHOUT REMOTE OR HANDBOOK CANNOT SEEM TO SET UP MY SKY BOX TO IT ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Does the S/H TV have AV1 & AV2 settings and a scart socket? If so just connect the a scart lead from Sky box to TV and select AV1.

If you have no scart socket on the TV you need to connect a coaxial (aerial) cable from the sky box to TV and tune in to a channel. It is possible to tune in your sky remote if you have the TV code.
