The dreaded canon cassette curse! "Remove the cassette". The tape would neither play nor record. I kept getting the message to remove the cassette. After opening and closing the cassette cover about 50 times the cassette was still stuck and then things got worse. The fuse blew. Shaking the camera with the cassette compartment open then produced a small spring. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem this week. was about to folm an important event and message came up to eject the tape. Before doing this i also tried to record and play and the same message kept coming up. So i did eject and after that I np longer could put the tape into the hoder and close!!!!!
Help!!!!!!!!!
The Canon MV800i fell off the tripod onto ashalt and the identical problem exists. Took a while to get the tape to eject, but now will not load a cassete, it makes the whirring noise but spits the tape back out. If no tape is inserted, the mechanism will close aok.
I don't have problem with tape ejection. I have problem with play mode. When I press play button, there is blue screen, like there is no tape. Please, help me! Thank You in advanced!
I am having the same problem with a Canon MV800i ejecting tape straight after loading it in the camera. It will not except any tapes new or used. I have had this camera for three years.
Cassette compartment won't close with tape in, will close with tape out.
