it most probably is DTV ready, try googeling some on the subject, but since its a LCD tv from 2006 its most likely to made with a digital tuner. Note : if you have cable or satelite ( dish networks, Direct Tv and so on ) you are allready watching digital TV and do not need a converter box.
Hi malumbender,
Your tv dosn't have a digital tuner, in order to recieve OTA (over the air) digital signals you will need a Digital Converter Box.
Here is a link to a government website for coupons for the box.
The coupons are for $40 off the purchase price of the box.
There is a waiting list but they will come available as other coupons expire.

Usually most newer high end sets are digital ready, after looking in the manual I could not find any mention of it being digital ready therefore I would have to say no and you will need a converter box, you can still get $40 off on up to converter boxs through the Govt. here is a link for that. You have to request your coupons by Dec 31st. I requested them and got them in a matter of weeks.
BRUCETYRE::
unless the information that comes with the tv says it is digital ready, NO!! and you will need a converter box.The reason is that for almost two years before the conversion, the /tv people knew what was going to happen and they were getting rid of the 'old' stock.The TV must say it is digital ready.
p.s. I looked it up for you...SORRY!! "" The manufacturer has informed us that this model has been discontinued. However, it might still be available for sale.""
p.s.s. Now I know for sure that it is not digital ready...get the converter box.
