If you use the lcd screen a lot, which i know i do, it really shortens the battery life.  good to carry extras, NimH batteries have a shorter life but can be recharged 100s of times....       try different sets and let me know if any particular set gives you less life than the others.  Sometimes NimH batteries go bad, usually the charger lights will reveal this when you go to charge them...  but one bad battery will greatly shorten the battery life.  you are lucky the camera gives you the option of using either, so you could, say you were at disney world and your nimh were dead, pickup some AA to get you thru the day.  rsvp ;)

Nikon L110 battery getting discharge in few clicks

It could be a bad battery charger circuit in your camera. Try charging your batteries in an external charger. Adorama.com sells an Delcon Devices external battery charger for $9.95. If that works, your problem is solved. If not, you will need to send the camera to Nikon USA for repair.

It will say low battery or will not turn on

If your camera uses AA batteries, you should note the battery type your camera support, and many cameras only support Lithium AA batteries or Alkaline AA batteries, else there maybe note enough voltage, so the camera will note low power. If your camera uses special camera batteries, and maybe you should replace it for a new one.

Purchased my nikon coolpix s4100 3 weeks ago and it says battery exhausted. what should i do?

We own a Nikon Coolpix camera as well, which uses regular AA or rechargeable AA batteries.
Assuming you have tried new batteries, (if you haven't, try new alkaline batteries), it's probably time to get a warranty replacement.

You might want to also look at the battery connections inside the camera to make sure they are clean and making good contact with the batteries.

Good luck

I got this camera a few years ago for Christmas and unfortunatley it is the worst camera I've ever had as far as battery life. I can take 2 or 3 pictures and then it shows low battery. I've replaced new...

It seems there is some where inside the camera leakage.. Are you using Li-ion rechargeable batteries or AA batteries For previously cameras, always comes with AA batteries, and most of the battery are with low capacity.

Battery exhausted, change them, take one photo, and camera says battery exhausted again. I have this camera one year and this is the first time this has happened.

Good quality rechargeable batteries are a must for these cameras. What I would suggest is AA' NI-MH rechargeable batteries the type that come already charged and when used and recharged will hold their charge up to 80% for a year. These batteries you will find will outlast any AA Alkaline type. If you are using a no name department store AA Alkaline type battery it's a wonder it even turned on.

Camera keeps saying low battery. although new batteries were installed twice

Please check if the new batteries are alkaline or rechargeable NiMH Batteries. Normal AA batteries my only take one shot and will be low batt.

Low Batterie Sign

I had the same prolem. OK, try this. Try to discharge the AA batteries in some use, flashlight or else,,,,then recharge them, full charge, install the batteriers ...they should work fine....
I read somewhere that canon is able free of charge to correct a shortcircuit that the camera is susceptible to develop in the installation of batteries......But I hope the advise will work...
Remove batteries when not in use.
