Headphone out jack is really quiet.

My friend owns a Phillips Magnavox 19'' lcd tv and we have been having some issues with the headphone out jack.  I just sold him my old speaker system and for some reason, whenever anything is plugged in, the tv cuts the audio signal almost in half.
I know for a fact that it is not my speakers, because I have used them on computers and other tv's with no problem.
I would just like to know if there is a way to change the level cut on the TV or if it is a problem with the jack itself.  Also, other headphones plugged in were also very quiet, and even maxing the TV's volume didn't help much.

Hi,

If you're trying to plug the speakers into the headphone connector that will happen.
Headphones are having a high impedance and those loudspeakers a low impedance.
That's why your volume is down. It stresses your audio-amplifier and even blow your finals.

Cheers,
Gerard

Why is the sound on my TV so low? I have it all the way to the end 100% and the sound can hardly be heard.

19LD350 is a small TV with tiny speakers, also if you are using a cable box it may not be properly set. Also try cleaning headphone jack [WD40] only a short spray in hole for headphone

I want to use my earbuds on my Sanyo DP19647, 19 inch LCD TV. I looked on the front, sides and the back of the television but I still can't figure it out. HELP. Thanks.

Most low-end TVs (no offense meant) do not have earphone output these days.

if you're into hacking you can just make yourself an output. It's not really a rocket science project , but does require some effort.

I am sure there will be manuals online on how to do it becuase the principle is going to be the same for every single TV out there.

Here's one possibility:

Here's another:

I am sure there will be better ones too.

Does magnavox have headphone jacks

Most stopped having that feature as the jacks can short out and damage the audio circuit in the set-----there are some aftermarket boxes that connect and have wireless headphones--no internal connection as they are hooked up in line with the incoming signal from cable or antenna---search the internet and you will see them.

We are trying to hook our TV up to our computer to use it as a monitor. What cords do we need to do this besides the normal monitor cord?

if you want audio as well, it will depend on what kind of audio connection your tv has next to the VGA (computer monitor) connection. If it looks like the normal RCA audio, (red and white plugs) you will need to get a male headphone jack (to plug into your computer headphone or speaker out jack) to stereo RCA cable so you would have a headphone jack on one side of the cable and a red and white plug on the other side. Now if your TV just has what look like a headphone jack next to the VGA (computer monitor plug) you will need to buy a male to male stereo headphone jack cable. for both of these, just make sure the cable you get it long enough, or buy an extension.

Does this thing even have speakers..cant get any sound

It definitely has built in speakers:

Built in Speakers 2 x 3W speakers

It also has a headphone out jack. If you can't get sound, check and see if the headphone jack works. Does the volume control work? If they do your problem is with the speakers. They may be blown or just disconnected.

If you can't get sound through the headphone jack and you do have volume control but no sound, it probably a problem with the mainboard. It may need to be replaced.

Not really worth fixing in my opinion. I'd Just get some external speakers and connect them that way. Of course, if you are relying on a cable input, thats a bit harder and you would need some tuner or a DVD/VCR player with a tuner that has the standard RCA red and white audio output.

I just bought a Dynex DX-LCD19-09 19 inch TV. I also have a Phillips home theater system. I have digital cable and I cant figure out how to hook it up to where i can watch regular tv but hear it through...

The only audio out jack on your TV is for the headphone on the left side of the TV. You need to purchase a 3.5 mm to RCA audio cable, connect the 3.5mm jack to the left side of your TV and the 2 RCA audio cable ends to the audio in of your Home Theater and then select AUX 1 or AUX 2 on the home theater depending on which jacks you plugged into.

Bypass hdmi to get sound to PC speakers

does your tv not have an audio out, if so, you could turn the tv's internal speakers off and just use the audio out jacks instead.
