After turning TV on you get picture and sounds for 3 seconds. Then TV picture goes black and sound is gone. Green light flashes for about 10 seconds. Then picture returns and sound comes back. Then the cycle repeats itself until you turn the TV off. I called Sony and we turned the TV off and unplugged it and waited for a few minutes then plugged it back in and powered the TV up. Picture and sounds were on for a few seconds....then picture and sounds went out then green light flashed. After a few seconds picture came back for 15mins. until it was turned off...now picture and sound goes to black w/ no sound w/ green light flashing for 10 seconds.
I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.

I had the same issue, took out the lamp and cleaned it. Popped it back in and works fine.
I had similar problem as you. What fixed it for me was to replace the lamp.
Same thing with our 60 inch Sony Wega. Black screen and no sound. We replaced the lamp about 3 months ago for 200.00. Of course no warranty. 3rd lamp in one year.

Yes, Tv's picture suddenly turn black, no sound. Tried to unplug everything, then turned-on again, power indicator flashed green then red, still no picture, still no sound.
I am checking online issued so maybe i can get inputs and repair the TV myself, i found the place where to buy the Lamp Block Assy XL-2200U, priced at $199.99.
Will research more online, how they fixed their unit.
The same exact thing is happening with our Sony Wega TV.
Turn TV on and after a few seconds/minute, screen goes black with no audio sound and green light under "Power/Standby" begins to blink for about 30+ seconds...until the screen appears again w/ sound for a few seconds before it vanishes again.
Already tried cooling off the TV, unplugging it, plugging it back in.
I don't know if it's the Lamp though because the light doesn't blink under the "Lamp" category but under the "Power/Standby" instead.
