En estos modelos quedan
grabados los errores de DC en el eeprom y se tiene que limpiar y estos son los
pasos para este modelo:
Mientras que el display muestre PROTECT presiona el y sosten
el 3 y 6 y luego presiona el RESET mantelos presionados por unos dos o tres
segundos y luego suelta el RESET y despues de uno o dos segundos suelta los
otros switches.
El display debe mostrar:
DC ERR
Presiona el 1 y el display mostrara
DC1 ERR
Presiona el 1 y sostenlo por par de segundos y el display
mostrara
DC1 OK
Presiona el 2 y el display mostrara
DC2 4
Presiona el 2 y sostenlo por un par de segundos y el display
mostrara
DC2 0
A este punto el eeprom ya esta limpio y nada mas presiona el
RESET y el disply debe mostrar STANDBY

Aplique este procedimiento se quito el protect, pero ahora no se escuchan las bocinas, mi estereo es un kenwood kdc-208u

First of all , your Kenwood shows only Protect on the display when your speakerwires are conflicting with each other , but when you cannot find the problem there....
disconnect them one by one to see wich speaker in your car is conflicting (shortcuts).
Replace that speaker and your kenwood will work just fine.
I had the same problem here with a brand new Clarion speaker .

Protect indicates that there is a short or a grounding problem usually within the speakers
or the speaker wiring. Locate and press the reset button (pinhole). If protect comes back then disconnect all speakers, reset and connect them back one at a time until protect shows up again. This will help you find out where the unwanted DC signal is coming from. If protect shows up when all speakers are disconnected, then it may need service.

Disconnecting the terminal will take to much time.. In between the skip button ,and the #1 on your stereo there is a little dot. Barely noticable unless you know what your looking for, take a safety pin or a screw( anything with a little tip) and push it in. This will restart your stereo. (Car Must be on)

find the lil hole in front of the face use a paper clip to reset it if it keeps on doing it you got a speaker going bad
