Canot see subject trying to photograph

In shooting mode the display screen is black except for the white icons of the camera settings. If I turn off the display screen and look through the view finder it is the same. If I push button to take a photo it will make sound as if it had teken photo but obviously it is blank like the screen. However when I go into playback mode it will show me in full color the pictures I have previously taken before this problem happened.

Hello, You should contact Canon about the situation. Let them know you are aware of the problem CCD sensor on the S1 camera. Actually S1 is repaired free of charge because of the CCD problem. You should suggest that your camera probably has the same defect as the S1. See what they say. If you need more info please advice. Arpi

I have a Canon PowerShot SX 10 IS. In Manual mode shows only black screen with icons. In Auto mode everything is fine.

Dear Olia,
Just a quick check on your camera. You have a focus issue so check the settings for the ISO - increase the value, eg. 800 or above and reduce the shutter speed. You can do that by the quick access dial (wheel) facing you. There are four direct access menus in a criss-cross direction. One is assigned to shooting mode - single, multi, timed etc. The other direction will have macro, standard, telephoto etc. the 3rd direction will (towards right) will take you to the ISO settings and the last will take you to the shutter speed settings.

you manipulate the ISO and shutter speed and see your screen will brighten up and the subject will be clear. Refer to the picture attached.

My ownerd manual will not download in this computer. How do I turn on the fine pix mode on the camera?

iam glad to be of help. The owners' manual can also be downloaded at the following internet address:

http://fujifilmusa.com/shared/bin/S1000fd_E.pdf

On page 79 of the manual the folllowing procedure for changing the finepix colour setting :
  • (STD) F-STANDARD: the contrast and color saturation are set to standard.use this mode for normal photography.
  • (C) F-CHROME: The contrast and color saturation are set to high. This mode is effective for taking more vivid shots of subjects such as flowers.
  • (B) F-B&W: This mode converts the colors in the photographed image to black and white
When setting the (C)F-CROME or (B) F-B&W the icon appears on the screen.

Hope this helps!

In camera mode the display turns black and white, and so are the pictures taken. No setup changes seem to work. ???

You mean to say whatever photographs you click comes in black and white photograph or nothing at all comes. Go to camera select options select effects and then select normal. If still the photographs are black and white kindly comment back.

My Sony Camera screen when i turn it on is white & has a pink line going diagonally through the screen

A multicolor vertical line may display on the camera LCD screen if there is glare on the subject being photographed. Avoid photographing very shiny surfaces that reflect excessive amount of light into the camera lens. Follow the procedure below to resolve this issue:
  1. Record the video or click the still pictures in a different lighting environment.
  2. On the camera, move the FOCUS AUTO/MANUAL switch to AUTO .
  3. Set the PLAY/STILL/MOVIE selector to MOVIE or STILL .
  4. Press the WHITE BALANCE button until the white balance is set to AUTO (no indicator).
  5. Record the video to new media.
  6. NOTE: If the issue is still unresolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T2

Hey marafioti14,
What you need to do is select shooting mode and then under that you need to select program mode, and under program menu you need to select the color mode which should allow you to set the camera to take black and white photographs. This being said I would suggest instead of shooting the images in black and white it would be better to convert them to black and white using computer software. It is likely that the software that came with the camera allows you to convert any image to black and white. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

From camerahacker.com:
1. Hold camera firmly in left hand.
2. Smartly rap front of camera with knuckles of right hand on the "Cyber-shot" logo.
Worked for me :)
