Keypad is model 318K
receiver is model 318R
factory setting for keypad PIN is 0000 #
there is no master reset code
you must have the current code to reset the PIN
if you hit the correct code on the keypad followed by the # key - you will get three beeps.
to change the PIN: (current PIN needed)
enter current 4 digit PIN then *
enter new 4 digit PIN followed by *
reenter new 4 digit pin and *
if accepted - backlight will flash and will sound one long beep
takes 2 CR2032 button cells for keypad
you could sit in a chair one night and start at 0000# then 0001# etc until you get three beeps
then use above procedure to change to your desired code
good luck

Push the button on the side of the receiver, then push the button on the remote. That should program the receiver to accept the transmitter. To unprogram all the old transmitters, hold down the button on the side of the receiver until it starts flashing quickly-about 10 seconds. Then program the new one as above. (if this were the old dip switch type, you'd open up the receiver box to read/set the switches)

You might want to look inside the box (can't think of the name that lifts the garage door). it may be written there or be obvious by switches.

I am trying to install a clicker model klik2u keypad i have a legacy 696cd/b it says to press smart/learn button on garage door opener i only have one button on opener

The original Legacy opener came out with a static 390 mhz frequency radio receiver that utilizes 12 security dip switch settings. The model number of the Legacy openers are shown as 496 or 696. You will be able to locate 12 little switches inside an existing remote control or on the backside of the garage door opener motor.
That opener remote will not work. You will have to call Overhead door, or replace GDO with upgraded security and home link to use opener in car overhead. Step 2 lists openers that the glicker will work with.

When I push in my code on my keypad to gain access, the door won't open and the keypad blinks 5 times. I am out of town and I have pets that need to be fed. Please help

Your keypad could have just quit working or the receiver in the motor unit could have failed. You will have to find another way into the house until you return home and try your car remote. Then you will know if it is the keypad or the receiver.

Setting garage door opener

You should be able to press the button on the receiver and then press the button on the remote if the batteries are good. The skylink group can be found at skylinkhome.com Thanks BB

We just moved into an apartment the previous occupants didn't know the code for the garage door opener and just used the FOB we need to access it from outside without the FOB, how do we reset the...

You will have to have access to the outside keypad and the motor head. Make sure there is a new battery in the keypad. Press the 3 -6-enter buttons at the same time to erase. Then press 357-prog, then press the 4 digit code-prog. Then go up to the motor unit and press the learn button. Go back to the keypad and press the 4 digit code followed by the up/down button, press the up/down button 2-3 more times and the door should move. If you have a black keypad this will not work, ask again with this info if needed. Thanks BB

Lights on overhead unit on garage door opener will not go off

This is not too uncommon. What tripped the breaker in your house also got to one of the relays on the logic board of your opener. The only cure I know of is a new logic board.
