SOURCE: Just bought the Delonghi portable

Ah man, like any other 'computer issue' these days - I'm sure you've already 'turned it on and off' a few times - (if not - I'd try that, and plugging it into the outlet and unplugging it). Also, I would try removing the tank (which you might have already done) and re-installing it. There might be a 'lever/manual device' that you can pull or push that would reset it - but not likely, but - I would try to find something like that - and re-position it in different ways to see if that would reset the switch.
Look on the cord/remote control for a 'reset button,' and maybe the user's manual will have some trouble-shooting hints that will address the problem.
good luck

My CPF11XCL-EW, when put in COOL mode will short cycle once or twice and then the display turns off. Anyone know what the problem is?

there could be multiple thing that could cause this if you are lucky it is in the electronics of the unit but with these portable room air conditioners just like the old window units the tend to get refrigerant leaks easily due to the constant moving around and they do not come with service ports so it could be a low pressure safety switch shutting the unit down find the wiring diagram either on the unit in the owners manual or online if you don't understand it see if you can find someone local that does to test the electrical components if all are good then unfortunately it would be cheaper to purchase a new unit than to have this one serviced

We just bought a Hisense 10,000 btu portable a/c. How often do we drain it. Does not say in the manuel

ac units take the humidity in the air and turn it into condensation that is draine off, either outside or for portable units into a collect point
How often you drain that collection point will depend on the humidity of the air
best monitor the water level and empty it when it starts to get full

Bought unit second hand. Motor runs, exhaust works but does not cool

Usually when you buy units such as airconditioners or refrigerators there are 2 things which should be considered. After moving these units around you are expected to allow the gas inside the unit settle for a period after being moved. If the gas does not settle after being moved the unit will not cool or heat up. The second possible problem is the fact that when most of these units are to be moved around the gas in the system are usually removed from the unit therefore you need an expert to help you refill the gas in the unit to enable it function properly. Check these 2 options and let me know how the system responds after both options have been checked.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Just bought DeLonghi portable ac. when i turn it on, there is a empty the tank error reading. Logically, I tried draining the tank and I still get the same reading. This is the second unit to do this. ...

Most likely the float that reads the water level is stuck or broken. Remove the tank and look up into the unit form the opening and se if you can see the float. Move it up and down to free it, if it still gives the error then contact DeLonghi for replacement part(s:

Go there then choose your model and see what they have.

My airconditioner is leaking. I emptied it twice

Is what you have emptied part of the design of the unit? Or is what you emptied something you made to
control the leak?

Some of these units sometimes need to be lifted so far off the ground to get proper airflow around the entire unit. If you have high humidty than either the unit is undersized. Does the unit ever shut off?

Licking water on my Royal Sovereign 1000 es

There is a little hole about one inch above the the drain tube and out of it should come a rubber strap connected to a plug for the drain tube. On the far left of the control panel is a diagram of a bucket under a water drop, just below is an led that comes on when the water tank is full and needs to be emptied. I just roll mine out on the porch and pull the plug. Also, when the tank is full the unit should shut off.
