My refrigerator does not remove the humidity,

The condensate collects and freezes in the bottom and inside the crispers regardless of the refrigerator temperature setting.

  • allinfoisfre Mar 04, 2009

Same problem. Everything starts icing up on the sides of the refrigerator and the freezer part turns into a winter wonderland. We replaced a number of items and it fixes it for a while. The last time the repairman told us we have too much humidity in there and it's probably getting in through the ice dispenser..... Very helpful, eh?......

The refrigerator temperature is determined on the freezer setting if you look at the thermostat for the freezerusually has #1 to 8 or close to it. nextto that is another kbob or lever that sets the air flow from the freezer to the refrigerator . i usually prefer to set both knobs in the middle for example on 1 to 8 set on 5 the other knob will have letters a-b-up to e set that one on 3 which will close the damper to about 50% if you need the freezer colder set the air flow knob to say B that should solve your problem.

There is water collecting continuously at the bottom of my fridge under the crispers. Do you know how I can fix?

Most frost free refrigerators take water from the freezer so you do not have to defrost the freezer. That being said there should be a drain under the crisper. Check to see if it is clogged.
you may need to put something under the refrigerator to collect the water..

Water is collecting under the crisper bins within the refrigerator.

Check carefully for spillage from a container on a higher shelf. If it's VERY humid where you live, you may also be picking up condensate.

Water collecting in bottom of fridge

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you are receiving water at the bottom of your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FPUI2188LF. What can cause this is either humidity coming from outside your refrigerator or maybe from the crisper drawers. Make sure your crisper drawers are set for a high humidity. Another thing that can cause moisture build-up at the bottom of your appliance is not covering your foods. Make sure that all foods and drinks are covered to cut down on moisture floating around inside your appliance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

WATER LEAK SAMSUNG RB215LASH

When water is leaking inside of your refrigerator, the problem could be as simple as condensation from humidity or a worn gasket, especially since you purchased your refrigerator used. The problem could also be a clogged drain or frozen evaporator.

To help you determine the problem, along with solutions that you can use, check out Refrigerator leaking water inside for some simple troubleshooting steps. I hope that helps!

In the freezer compartment, there is frost in the back. It's a side by side 19.9 without a water dispenser. The refrigerator part is not as cold as it should be but it is cold.

although most frost free freezers will hardly ever frost up,some will,(it depends on overall humidity)by frost free the makers say "food is frost free"but the inside is shinny plastic and all shinny surfaces will collect condensation and frost up.(look under the salad crisper, condensation?)it is worthwhile, about once a year, doing a complete defrost(NO sharp objects)and vacuum out all the vents/clean out any drain holes.
saves you a fortune in power.......

If I want low humidity in the (vegetables/fruits) crisper[s]

This is usually just a switch for a mullion heater that prevents condensation from building on the outside of the fridge between the doors. It has nothing to do with humidity inside the refrigerator. If your house is humid as not running an air conditioner, set the switch to high.

My refriderator freezer not working and the bottom crispers on the fridge side are freezing

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} How is the freezer doing. If you have a lot of ice collecting in the freezer the door gasket is probably bad causing the compressor to run overtime which will probably cause the refrigerator portion to cool as well.
You might check the freezer and if very cold set it a bit warmer. I do not know what you have but these may save you some $$$. While you are at it check the freezer, refrigerator, condenser and condenser fans.
Good Luck,

Water under veggie bin in fridg. model frigidaire F44Q21RJ,

possibility's:

1 There is a drain that carries away the water under the cooling coils. These coils are in the freezer section.

2 The damper going to the crisper( s) is open too far allowing cold air to cause condensate on the fridge wall or bottom.

3 The freezer section is not defrosting and there is a spot where the ice buildup is allowing conductive cooling into the refrigerator section and therefore is allowing condensation on the refrigerator wall or ceiling.

4 The refg section has a heater (possibly not positive) in the area of the door frame, or it may have a "power saver" switch. This switch and the heater (if it has a heater it may not have a switch) are designed to stop condensation on the refridg while running. I fit is placed in the "power save" mode it turns off the heater. But, if you live in extream humidity (Great lakes east side or Gulf coats Houstion...) the humid air will condensate water out and it will collect and settle on the floor.

5 Door gaskets are not sealing especially on the bottom of the door. This allows warmer air into the fridge section and it is condensation on floor under the crisper.

If you check all of these items and still cant find it please post back and tell me what you did find. So I can help you more. Please rate me as much as possible as Im trying to keep my average up and do the things that will actually educate and help people.

THANK you for using fixya and good luck..
