Install MFL Pro Suite / Scansoft Paperport for 440 cn

No I won't...YOU do it!

If you installed MFL ProSuite you probaly have an Express version of Paperport installed.
Uninstall the express version and then install PP11.

Please close all applications before running the Repair MFL-Pro Suite.
1. Turn off and unplug the machine from the AC outlet and disconnect it from your computer, if you already connected an interface cable.
2. Turn on your computer. (For Windows 2000 Professional/XP, you must be logged on with Administrator rights.)
*Note: On Windows 2000 and XP systems, you can check to see whether youhave administrator rights by right-clicking on the "Start" button. If you see the text "Explore All Users", you have administrator rights. If you do not see this text, you do not have administrator rights. Try to log on to the computer using a different user name, or computer manufacture for support; if your computer belong to a network You will need to contact your network administrator to give you permission to install the software
3. Insert the supplied CD-ROM for Windows into your CD-ROM drive. If thelanguage screen appears, select your language. If you are not promptedwith the language screen, go to My computer, then double click on the MFL_Pro icon.
4. The CD-ROM main menu will appear. Click on REPAIR MFL-PRO SUITE.
5. Click YES, when prompt the software to turn off machine and disconnect parallel/usb connection.
6. When the Brother MFL-Pro Suite Software License Agreement window appears, read the agreement, then click YES if you agree to its terms.
7. Select LOCAL CONNECTION, and then click NEXT. The installation will continue.
7a. For some models, you will be prompt to select USB or Parallel connection following step 7. Please select the cable connection you areusing, then click next.
8. When prompted to #Connect the Machine#, connect the USB or Parallel cable to your PC, and then connect it to the machine. (DO NOT connect the machine to a USB port on a keyboard or a non-powered USB hub. For Parallel connection, please use cable 6 feet or shorter. Brother recommends that you connect the machine directly to your computer.)
9. Plug in the power cord and turn on the machine. It will take a few seconds for the installation screen to appear. The installation of the Brother drivers will automatically start. The Found new hardware wizard windows will appear one after another. Please DO NOT try to cancel or click on any options for the Found New Hardware Wizard. Just wait and the installation program will make the necessary selection for you.
10. When the On-Line Registration screen is displayed, click Brother Registration to register your device with Brother. You can also click onScanSoft Registration to register the ScanSoft Paperport software. If you have previously registered with Brother or Scansoft, click Next.
11. Click FINISH to restart your computer.
The MFL-Pro Suite, Brother Printer driver and Scanner driver have been reinstalled and the installation is now complete.

"{Ok, here is how I got the whole package from my Brother MFC and PaperPort 11 with the printer utility.
First if you have tried to install the suite or paperport and are having issues uninstalling through windows download this wonderful program that removes everything called Revo Uninstaller at www.revouninstaller.com and choose the freeware version.
Now go to the Brother website and search for the Windows 7 MFLPRO Suite and you should download a zip file that contains the suite for multiple MFC’s. Unzip it and set it aside. This is only the Brother Suite for the Brother MFC and the Control Center 3.

PaperPort 11 will have to be installed from the actual CD that came with your printer. Inside the CD with Windows Explorer File System locate the file Inst32.exe that should be inside the CD under the install folder then MFC-465CN (my model) then usa folder. Remember the location.
Now set everything aside and let’s start. Open up control panel, click on programs and features then choose Run programs made for previous versions of Windows. You have just opened up program commutability, now click next and wait now choose not listed and press next. Browse and fine the Inst32.exe file that I mentioned earlier. Now click next and then choose Try Recommended Settings, Next your setting should say applied and compatible with Windows XP SP2, then you will see a tab on the next screen that says Start the program. Click on it and allow it to start installing this will start the suite and the first thing that installs is PaprPort, be patient let it continue to run and after it will install the PaoperPort print driver, then after it will start into the MFL PRO Suite. This is where my installation halted because the suite is a 32Bit version it would not continue. I looked and PaperPort program and printer where installed. Close it up and pres next.

Finally now you can install the MFL PRO for Windows 7. Open up the folder you downloaded from Brother and look for your model and you will see the setup.exe application, click on it and start installing MFL PRO along with Control Center 3. That’s it, and your setup should be complete.}"

This issue is cause when the print spooler service isn't running, MFL pro installs the printer driver 1st (after paperport install) which will not wun if the service is disabled

and Language
Press Search
Then Click More Information Link
You will get Download icon
Just Click that.. Press I Accept

Please uninstall all drivers and software related to printer. Detach printer from computer connection.

Install drivers and software without the printer connected.

Restart computer and connect printer.

The CD probably contains XP drivers. Make sure you unistall the software.

Then use these drivers:

you have to install the paperport software. This should be done when you have run the whole mfl-pro suite.

go to progr. /scansoft/paperport/ click scanner and simply scan into the paperport desktop.

reinstall printer driver or download printer driver by searching web TYPE IN : printer driver for Brother mfc-9420 you need to know what operating system you use on computer like windows xp, windows 2000,or windows 98 download driver and install then retry printer.
