Hi you have a fuser problem. The fuser does not heatup normaly. Sometimes it can besolved with the following code. Enter Sim mode. "c" - Auto/text/photo - "c" - Auto/text/photo - 14 -start - 00 - start. To exit sim mode press clear all. Turn the machine off and on, check operation. If that does not work check the Termosters, termostats, and heater lamps and wiring harnes.
Hope it helps
SOURCE: cannot reduce size from 11x17 to letter
The NP6551 is an analogue copier, using only mirrors and lenses. It has no way of rotating the image. If you want to reduce a 11x17 to a 8.5x11 both peices of paper need to be fed in the same direction, ie short edge first. Change one of your trays to LTR-R ('R' for Reduction) or feed the LTR paper in thru the bypass in the long direction. If you use te bypass you must specify the paper size as LTR-R, you cannot use FREE.

restart the copier while holding down the "0" and "5" keys. you will now be in service mode. enter "5" and press "start" key a number should show up in the display. this is the exposure value - how dark or light the copies will be. 5 is the automatic exposure setting. around 128 is the normal value. the larger this value the lighter the copies are - the smaller the value the darker the copies.
Enter a new number (exposure value) and press the "interupt" key to save the value. Restart the copier and check what the copies look like. Keep adjusting until it looks good/better.
