  • The CMOS is, in basic terms, the part of the motherboard that stores the BIOS settings. To remove the BIOS password from your Toshiba laptop, your best option is to forcibly clear the CMOS.
To clear the CMOS, you must remove the battery from your laptop and leave it out for at least 30 minutes to an hour. The way to remove the battery from your Toshiba will largely depend on the model. A common way to remove the battery--particularly with newer models--is to release the battery lock on the bottom of the laptop, while sliding the accompanying tab over to the side. This will pop the battery out from its tray so that you can then pull it out all of the way out.
Before you remove the battery, turn off the laptop and remove the AC adapter. Otherwise, you could end up harming yourself or the laptop components. You must also ground yourself to prevent damaging the laptop with static electricity.
After about a half an hour or more, return the battery back to its tray and lock it into place. Power on the laptop. The computertoshiba satellite pro u400-130 bios password - icon1.png, ideally, should no longer ask you for a BIOS password.
It's important to keep in mind that resetting the CMOS means that all of your BIOS settings will be reset to factory default. Also, sometimes you may need to leave out the battery for much longer than an hour to reset the password.
  • If resetting the CMOS doesn't work, then your next bet is to try using a backdoor password. A backdoor password is basically a password that manufacturers include with the BIOS so that technicians can access the computers that people send in for repair. An example of a Toshiba backdoor password is, unsurprisingly, "Toshiba." When the BIOS prompts you to enter a password, entering "Toshiba" may allow you to access your PC and clear the old BIOS password. Another option is to hold the left "Shift" key down while booting.

The Password can be removed via the printer port
What you need is a password removal tool, It removes the Bios and start-up passwords.
It costs about £5.00. Easy to build but it costs more to put the kit together.
I think you were quite hard on the assistance.
People here are just trying to help. At least appreciate that!

SOURCE: how to remove bios password for Toshiba Satellite A200

If you know the current password, use it to enter BIOS SETUP.
Then, type a "blank" ("space-bar") as the "new" password.

If you don't know the current password, you're stuck;
this is a "security" feature to prevent a stolen laptop from being used by the thief.

This is the ONLY other way, save paying Toshiba and filling in proof of ownership forms.
The BIOS password is removed by the BIOS configuration, you need the BIOS password to get into the BIOS configuration. But if you do not have the BIOS password then you need to construct this dongle device.
TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE
You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector
http://www.tilman.de/sonstiges/toshiba/dongle1.jpg this is a picture of the finished dongle

Wire the pins as follows :-1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15
Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.

SOURCE: I need to clear he bios password in a toshiba

  1. Remove battery.
  2. Remove memory.
  3. look at the side of the memory at the top left side and locate the little brassy coloured dots with the lettering JRST1 at the side (jumper reset 1).
  4. Touch something metal across them for a few seconds.
  5. thank me because no where on this stupid internet has anyone got a solution to this and I had to find it out on myself.
Good luck, Bowling Crony.

BIO PASS WORD

Reset BIOS password, it can be done in two ways

Manual
Open the cover under laptop, remove the CMOS battery about 7 seconds, then plug it back. Turn on laptop, BIOS password will be lost. Perform setting date, time, etc.

Online (conditions: the laptop can desktop access)
Toshiba gives services, online flash BIOS. Download and install software ACPI Flash BIOS, according to model of laptop.
Example: Toshiba Satellite L305-SP6983R, software version: ACPI Flash BIOS version 2.20 for Satellite/Satellite Pro L300/L305/L350/L355

I want to reset my Toshiba Satellite Pro SP-6000 BIOS Password. I have the bootable CD XPSP2 but I can ran it on the drive. so far I want to set on the CMOS setup to boot from the CD but it's show me...

BIOS passwords in modern portables require a master password to bypass/reset if the original password is lost forgotten. You will need to contact Toshiba Tech Support and if the system is not under current warranty that will probably require payment to resolve.

There are many known ways to reset / remove / bypass the password:

* By removing the CMOS battery
* By using the motherboard jumper
* By using MS DOS command
* By using Backdoor BIOS password

but if it is the windows password, then you have to use a windows password recovery tool to reset the password.

Reset password on toshiba satellite pro a200

Which operating system are you using?????????
you could set a password in the BIOS, but as far as a operating system password goes, it would be difficult, at best, to reset a password without being logged in first.....
