There is a yellow spot on the screen. We've changed the lamp, checked/cleaned the lens but the yellow spot is still projecting. Any suggestions on what might be the problem?
Re: InFocus LP 850 Projector, yellow spot on screen
Hello, Unfortunately the discoloration is caused by the extreme heat generated by the Lamp has burned the LCD optical polarization filter/elements. The only solution for this is to replace the entire LCD optical assembly.

If you are looking at the projector with the lens facing you, look at the half moon shaped gray panel on the top and you will see a small **** that you can stick a flathead into. Slide the flathead away from the lens and the top should pop up. Then you will see the lamp. Unscrew the 3 or 4 screws on top of the lamp and pull it out using the wire handle on top of the lamp.
this could have more than one cause, but the most obvious is a burn-in on the lens or dust on the lamp. either way it has to be replaced by a professional.
the light tunnel has collapsed and needs to be replaced. unfortunately, infocus no longer makes or has parts for this model. you could try and find one on ebay. usually the power supply goes on those, so if someone has one with that problem you could get it and swap out the parts. good luck!
are the leds on the top lit or blinking? it could be the lamp, the ballast, or the fans. check the lamp. if there are black spots or bulges in the lamp, replace it. if not, make sure the fans are running. if they are, replace the ballast.
This would appear to be a componeent failing and I doubt if it is user fixable. If it unser warranty send it back whence it came, Further support try here http://www.google.co.uk/url?q=http://www.infocus.com/support.aspx&sa=X&oi=smap&resnum=1&ct=result&cd=2&usg=AFQjCNFdFuwQfzBpULQpcHnzxmC_n12fdA
