SOURCE: Doesn't spin the clothes dry on the final spin but spins at high revolutions without a load of clothes

I have read that if the pump is not draining the tub completely, there is an interlock that prevents the high speed spin from engagin. I have had debris caught in my pump several times (kids!!) with similar issues. There is a trap on the line leading from the tub to the pump which is "supposed" to capture debris, but it doesn't work all that well. Check your pump.....

SOURCE: Affinity Front load washer will not spin out clothes

I replaced the lock assembly. Took about 5 minutes and $70.00 part. It is working perfectly. I also cleaned the filter while I was at it.

Yes, the original issue was the control from the beginning. the control is damaged and it cannot register the latch at this point. this is necessary and , it will fix the issue.

Power went out door locked

Instructions

<:section abp="1260">

    • 1 Unplug your Whirlpool Duet washer from the wall receptacle.
    • 2 Remove the three screws along the bottom front of the washer. Pull the bottom panel from the washer, opening the front of the washer.
    • 3 Reach your arm up through the opening to locate the door latch assemble inside the body of the washer. Grasp the tear-shaped tab with your fingers. Gently pull down on the tab until you hear a click. Pull on the Duet door to open it.
    • 4 Look inside the latch opening in the body of the washer for foreign material. Remove it from the switch with tweezers or needle-nose pliers. Look for any pieces of broken plastic that could indicate the door lock mechanism is broken and needs replacing.
    • 5 Shut the door on the washer and plug it into the wall receptacle. Confirm that the door remains unlocked. Unplug the washer and release the lock on the washer door as before if it fails to remain unlocked.
    • 6 Unplug the Duet washer from the receptacle. Pull the washer from the wall so you can access the rear of the washer.
    • 7 Remove the three screws from the top back of the Duet washer. Lift the top off the washer. Find the central control unit, or CCU, at the back right of the washing machine.
    • 8 Check that all the wiring harnesses plug securely into the CCU. The wiring harness for the door-lock solenoids is the sixth harness from the left of the CCU. The wiring harness for the door-lock main switches is the only black harness connected to the CCU.
    • 9 Remove the round retainer holding the rubber boot gasket from the Duet washer door opening by inserting a flat-head screwdriver beneath the spring on the retainer. Pull forward on the retainer spring to release it from the boot gasket.
    • 10 Pull the rubber boot gasket away from the opening at the switch location to access the door switch assembly. Check the wiring harness on the switch assembly to make sure it is engaged. Snap the gasket back in place, and replace the retainer on the washer.
    • 11 Plug the Duet washer into the wall receptacle. Select a washing cycle and press start. Listen for the door lock to engage. Turn the washer off and listen for the door lock to disengage, or wait 30 seconds and try to open the washer door.
    • 12 Unplug the washer from the wall receptacle. Pull the wiring harness for the door-lock solenoids from the CCU. Number the sets of wires attached to the wiring harness as 3, 2 and 1, from left to right.
    • 13 Set an electrical multimeter to "Ohm X1K." Insert one probe from the multimeter into opening number 3, along with the wire. Insert the remaining probe into opening number 2, along with the wires. The multimeter should read 60 ohms. Leave the probe in opening number 3, and move the remaining probe to opening number 1. The multimeter should read 60 ohms in this position as well. Should you receive any other reading, replace the wiring harness.
    • 14 Reconnect the wiring harness for the door-lock solenoids into the CCU. Plug the Duet washing machine into the wall receptacle. Select a wash cycle on the duet, then press start. Listen for the door lock to engage and immediately unplug the washer from the wall.
    • 15 Leave the wiring harness for the door-lock main switches plugged into the CCU. Number the wires in the harness 5, 4, 2 and 1, from left to right. The middle opening on the wiring harness is empty, so there isn't a third wire.
    • 16 Set the dial on the electrical multimeter to "Ohms X1K." Insert one probe into the opening next to wire 5, and insert the remaining probe into the opening next to wire 4. The meter should read zero ohms.
    • 17 Insert one probe into the opening next to wire number 2, and insert the remaining probe into the opening next to wire 1. The meter should read zero ohms. Replace the wiring harness should you receive any other reading.

2000 chevy 1500 no start, no crank, security problem

The truck has a feature, where you turn the key in door lock , the alarm should stop going off. there is a small switch on back of the lock cylinder. it may have popped off and is in lock position, but you cant turn it back to on position, because it popped off from the back of the lock. remove the door panel and look inside of the door where the lock is. make sure, that the switch is attached firmly to the back of the lock cylinder. start there.

Frigidaire Affinity washer (LAFW3511KW0) with an E41 error. I have unplugged to reset (no change), checked the stricker (fine), removed outer seal and disconnected and reattached (I also received an E41...

Install the door lock/switch assembly with the door switch harness disconnected but "jumped". Jump a wire between the wire harness terminals and if the error code (E41) stops appearing when the machine is started, the door lock/switch assembly is indeed faulty and needs to be replaced.

jahn27_554.jpg

Check the continuity of the door switch harness connecting the switch and terminal J2 of of the control board if the error code (E41) still appears every time the machine is started after putting a jumper wire between the door switch harness terminals.

jahn27_555.jpg
jahn27_556.jpg

Make sure the connectors are clean and snugly connected to both. Replace the wire harness if you are skeptical about its condition. Disconnecting the door switch wire harness (J2) from the control board and putting a jumper wire between the leads of terminal J2 on the control board will directly confirm the condition of the wire harness and the board itself. The wire harness is the problem and must be replaced if the error code E41 stops appearing. On the other hand, consider replacing the control board if the error code still flashes even when the leads of terminal J2 on the board is shorted ("jumped").

Washer won't start, makes a clicking noise and than a code comes upF DL

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error “dlf” or f dl means a door latch failure. This means that you’ll need to replace the door latch assembly however before doing that you can leave the washer unplugged for 30minutes so that it resets itself. In the meantime when it’s unplugged just inspect the door latch wiring to ensure all the connector plugs are intact and not loose or broken. You can access the door latch wiring harness by removing the top panel of the washer. To remove the top panel just remove the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, and then lift off. Locate the door latch assembly behind the front panel on the right hand side. Trace all the connectors from the door latch to the Central Control Unit (CCU) and make sure they are properly seated at both ends. If after doing this still the issue is not resolved then unfortunately you have to get the door latch replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

My door lock has locked with the door open , how do i get it to unlock ?

There is a manual unlocking tab located at the bottom of the door lock and switch assembly. Disconnect power to the washer before accessing it.

Remove the three screws attaching the toe panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. Prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall for an easy access of the screws.

Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door lock and switch assembly on the right side.

Locate the tear-drop shaped tab then gently pull it down until a click is heard, and then open the door.

The door lock and switch assembly may need to be replaced if the problem persists. Disconnect power to the washer and open the door. Remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening.

dc4821c.jpg

Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock/latch assembly off the lip of the right side of the door opening. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock/latch assembly behind the front panel.

027488d.jpg

Remove the three screws securing the door lock/latch assembly to the front panel and slightly lift it then pull it back off the front panel.

Pull the door lock/latch assembly out of the washer and disconnect the wiring harness.

Connect the wiring harness to the new door lock/latch assembly and install it back in place behind the front panel.

Secure the door lock/latch assembly and put the eased part of the door gasket back into position over the lip of the door opening.

Check that the door gasket is properly seated before putting back and securing the retaining hoop around the lip of the door opening and the door gasket.

It is indeed a door lock failure. Replace the door lock/latch assembly (part number 8181700) to solve the problem.

Disconnect power to the washer and open the door. Remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening.

Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock/latch assembly off the lip of the right side of the door opening. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock/latch assembly behind the front panel.

I close washer door but it wont go through cycle

Check to see if one of the two tabs on the door latch assembly are broken. If one is broken, replace the door latch. If the door latch is ok, you might have to replace the door switch and the door latch. To replace the door switch you have to remove the front panel. Remove the two screws holding the door switch assembly in place and drop the door switch assembly down into the bottom of the washer. Remove the wires and transfer to the new switch. Reach up and line up the new switch and install the two screws. Remove the two screws on the door latch assembly on the door, and remove old door latch. Install the new latch and replace the front panel. I hope this helps.

DOOr error on speed queen front load commercial washer

I had this problem. What I did is replace the door latch. Then disconnected the machine over night, then everything was fine. I waited over night because i couldn't get rid of the door error every time I reconnected the washer. I think i read that you have to have the machine disconnected at least a minute. Another thing you may want to look at is the locking mechanism and switch. I recommend starting with the latch and switch. they're the cheapest parts to replace.
