The passwords are to protect misuse of the device by unauthorised persons, you included. Hence, there is no way that you can use it without reinstalling the firmware whether you do it yourself or AT&T does it. Would it not be cheaper to locate your cousin and ask him the password.

This depends on what version you have. If you bought the Home and Student version (3 Licence edition) then yes you can install it on more than one machine and use the same activation key on those three machines.

Try phoning Microsoft and tell them that your porduct key doesn't work with your version but if that doesn't work you have to buy another version unfortunately.

where are you located, you can usually google cell phone experts in your area to unlock the phone, it is usually about 50 bucks but i may be more with a side kick unfortunatly. You need special software that can give you unlock and puk code. Your best bet would be to ask your local att store, NOT CORPORATE. usually a parrot att or a retail location the associates are glad to give out that information.
