HP Laserjet 1300
I was printing a run of 60+ pages at around page 35 pages started coming out black (not solid but all over) with the yellow light flashing.
I've checked for jams (none) all doors closed and toner OK. After switching off and restarting light still flashing.
On your advice I have changed the toner cartridge - yellow light still flashing!!
Thanks for reininstall printer suggestion but I do not have an instalation CD
Re-installing the print driver will not solve a flashing light. If the printer is functionally ok, it will come to ready simply by plugging into the wall. It sounds to me like a fatal error at this point.....could be a long list of things, but I would lean towards a formatter board. bottom line with this printer at this point in it's life is, if it doesn't work, it's not worth fixing. Replaceable for about $100.

Change the toner cartridge and see if the problem is rectified. Sounds like a part failure in the cartridge. This can happen at anytime, but more so when the cartridge is at the end of its useful life

Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
