My printer won't print and the paper light is on. There is no paper jam anywhere, I pulled out everything and can't find a jam, and both trays are full enough. I am unsure why I cannot print!
Sorry...after turning the printer off and counting to ten, you need to turn it on then note the light sequence...Sorry...after turning the printer off and counting to ten, you need to turn it on then note the light sequence...

PROBLEM: Paper Jam.
XANTE 1200, Tabloid size, B&W, Printer —Red light blinking fast indicating paper jam upfront.
If you checked everything, trays, ink cartridge etc., and see no paper jam anywhere, take the top cover off and look inside the (head) for the jammed paper!
This printer is problem free. It has given us the best service for many years.

i used a bit of strapping cable and slid it up between where the paper first goes into the printer from the paper tray and found there was a bit of paper there. that fixed the problem.
I had the same problem on 4 Brother HL-5250's, I checked the whole printer, and couldn't find a paper jam, yet the red printer light wouldn't shut off. I finally followed the instructions on Brother's website for removing a paper jam, and the solution for all 4 printers was paper stuck in the fuser cover. See below on how to open the fuser cover.
Pull the tabs at the left and right hand sides toward you to open the fuser cover (1).
Hint
There are 2 kinds of covers at the rear of the printer. Please make sure to open both the back cover (step 7) and the fusercover (step8).
hi lorraine3 -
I hope you didn't 'throw it out the window!' just for a future quick ref, here are a couple fast links to hp support docs about paper jams and blinking lights that might help:
Get a thick piece of paper and feed it in to the printer following the paper path the best you can until you get the piece of paper you can't see out of it.
