Cleaning and demagnetizing recording head on microcassette transcriber machine

Probably has a bad sensor belt (small belt attached to silver and black reflective wheel).

Head unit needs azimuth adjusted

check the headset and or the headset connection.

It will still be under warranty so take it back. You might need your receipt.

- Possibly the recording head may need cleaning and demagnetizing.
- The tape itself could be damaged or even folded.
- It may be also because one or both backup pads are missing on the microcassette.

There should two pads behind the tape as shown below.

This unit does not have erase. You can use a microcassette tape eraser which you slide the tape thru.

Hold down the 'Erase' button and press the 'Rewind' button. It will erase the tapes as it rewinds.

use a bulk magnetic tape eraser from radio shack. the eraser head in your machine is mal-adjusted and, would be too difficult to fix

I have a Soney Transcriber BM-840. 'When I press the erase/rewinder buttons, the tape IS NOT erased. What am I doing wrong?
