Dishwasher is not filling up with water, valve under sink is open, worked fine a couple days ago and today, no water! Goes through cycles, motor is running.
If the
water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there
is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What
is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch
must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the
motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be
good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn
around to inject with pressure. If so
the pump must be checked for clogging. Click on : Inlet valve

try the float inside the dishwasher to see if it moves up and down freely .its usually about 3x3 round and resides near the heating coil this has a switch under it that controls the solenoid valve

hi, it could be the inlet valve. This is usually what the hose fits to on the outside of the machine, and on the inside is the valve. MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE you take the wires off the valve, then check for a reading on a ohms meter.ACROSS THE TWO TAGS, If no reading on the meter, the valve is gone. Regards, Tom.

Check the electrical water inlet valve for sand or unwanted partical on the valve. If the valve can not be open and clean, change the valve.

If when turned on the dishwasher sounds like it is running the drain pump, and does this in any cycle setting, it is possible that the drain pan below the unit has filled with water. Check this post for more details.

pump is likely gone ......without pressure from the pump .the arms will not turn and no water will shoot from the arm jets .....it's kinda like a whirlpool tub that way .....no pump no bubbles ..good luck
Two things to consider....clean water or
dirty water?
Clean water usually indicates the fill valve
is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is "weeping" water
in all the time = new fill valve time!!
Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher
problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the
sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing
up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose.
The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem
indicates a slow house drain for that sink.
The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.
