Hi, I need the operating manual for a viper remote start system. I bought a 97 Mountaineer with the viper security / remote start system already installed and the previous owner did not have the manual. I can easily open and lock the doors, But can not get the car to start..Actually, that's not totally true. I did get it to start one time but I was randomly hitting buttons and do not know which one I hit to make it start the engine. Can not find the manual ANYWHERE online.Help!
The asterisk button controls the remote starter feature. Press and release one time, wait. The parking lights should flash confirming that the unit received the command. If pressing the button one time doesn't work, try two times.
I have a 2008 Saturn with viper restart 7254 please what buttons do I push to start the vehicle?
I really need help. I tried that, but I hold the AUX and then press unlock, it unlocks it and beeps twice, but then after that it only unlocks and locks with lights flash, but no beep sounds. HOw can I find a manual for this or can someone help me with this, what or how to I do this step by step. Thank you.
SOURCE: disable viper alarm
Yes the best way is disarm the alarm and put in a Valet Mode
To activate the Valet Mode do the following:
There is a push button or toggle switch to disable the alarm (to engage the valet mode). Without knowing where this
switch is you won't be able to disconnect the alarm.
1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position.
2. Flip the toggle or hold the push button for at least 5 seconds.
3. The LED. light will stay solid on.
4. Turn the ignition off
5. Release the push button. If you have a toggle leave it alone in step 2
SOURCE: would like to know what the bottom 2 buttons mean on Viper 7153v
the bottom button is for function shift, and is used (with aux button) to activate certain functions (add on optional features like trunk pop, window roll up/down, rear defroster, etc--all depend on car and install) or by itself for status updates (interior temp check-press once, release, press and hold; remaining runtime-press and release three times, press and hold; lock status-press and release twice, press and hold). it is also used with lock and unlock for silent arm/disarm, and also to enter valet mode.

SOURCE: Change VIPER Responder One runtime
Actually the first solution may or may not be true. If whomever installed the remote starter "locked" the programming with a bitwriter, then you will need to take it back to someone with a bitwriter to unlock and change the setting. If it was not locked then you can change run times for that model yourself. You have choices of 12, 24 or 60 minutes. 12 is the factory setting (with a bitwriter you can choose in one minute increments). If your system is unlocked this is how you can change the runtime setting. It's a bit of a pain so you might want to write it down. There should be a small programming button attached to wires coming from the "brain". First, locate that button. 1. Turn ignition key on then back off. 2. Quickly push and HOLD the programming button. If the horn was hooked up to the remote start system, it should honk once. (If it wasn't you'll have to look for a small led status light on the brain that should flash once) To change runtime, keep holding the button down till the horn honks twice (or the led flashes twice). 3. Release button after horn honks twice (or led flashes twice.) You are now in menu two where runtime is set. 4. Within 10 seconds, press and release the programming button two times. Now push and HOLD the programming button. You are now on feature two of menu two (runtime options). While still holding the programming button in, press the remote start button on the fob the number of times that corresponds with the run time you want. once = 12 minutes, twice = 24 minutes and three times equals 60 minutes. After selection has been made release programming button. The programming sequence will be cancelled if any of the following occur: Ignition is turned on or programming button is pressed too many times or more than 25 seconds elapses between steps. Like I said, it is a pain to do manually and there is a possibility you could mess up other settings if you get it wrong. But this is what the install manual states if you want to give it a go. Good luck!
